Russia puts number of Ukrainian casualties in Kursk area over past day at over 400
MOSCOW, October 5. /TASS/. Ukrainian troops sustained more than 400 casualties in the Kursk direction in the past day, and as many as 17 enemy soldiers surrendered, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a daily report.
According to it, enemy losses also included a tank and 15 armored combat vehicles, five artillery mounts, including a French-provided Caesar howitzer and a Ukrainian-made Bogdana self-propelled artillery gun, an engineering clearing vehicle and an armored repair and recovery vehicle.
The operation to eliminate Ukrainian troops is ongoing, the Russian military added.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - The Ukrainian armed forces have lost over 400 soldiers and 16 pieces of military equipment in clashes in border areas of Russia’s Kursk Region over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Saturday.
"Over the day, Ukraine’s casualties amounted to more than 400 soldiers, 16 units of armored vehicles, including a tank and 15 armored fighting vehicles, were destroyed … 17 Ukrainian soldiers surrendered," the ministry said.
Overall, Kiev lost over 20,650 soldiers and 136 tanks since the Ukrainian troops entered the Kursk Region, the ministry added.
Over the past day, the Russian units have defeated the Ukrainian forces in several settlements of the Kursk Region, including Darino, Nikolaevo-Darino and Plekhovo.

Ukraine Lost 115 Servicemen in Volchansk, Liptsy Areas – MoD
MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Ukrainian troops in the Liptsy and Volchansk areas lost up to 115 servicemen as a result of the defeat inflicted by Russia's Battlegroup Sever, the group's spokesman Yaroslav Yakimkin told Sputnik.
"The Armed Forces of Ukraine lost up to 115 servicemen, an armored combat vehicle, three cars and a 122-mm D-30 howitzer," Yakimkin said.
He said Russian units defeated the formations of the 57th motorized infantry, 92nd airborne assault brigades, as well as the 129th territorial defense brigade

Kiev loses over 21,000 troops since incursion in Kursk area
The Ukrainian military has lost over 21,000 troops since its incursion in Russia’s borderline Kursk Region, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on Friday.
"Over the period of combat operations in the Kursk area, the enemy has lost over 21,000 personnel, 136 tanks, 66 infantry fighting vehicles, 98 armored personnel carriers, 885 armored combat vehicles, 584 motor vehicles and 171 artillery guns," the ministry said in a statement.
The Ukrainian military has lost over 21,000 troops since its incursion in Russia’s borderline Kursk Region, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on Friday.

“Considerable trophies” were left behind by Ukrainian troops in Ugledar, the Defense Ministry has said
Russian troops have seized a large stockpile of NATO-supplied weapons and ammunition in the Donbass stronghold of Ugledar after driving Ukrainian forces out of the town, the Defense Ministry in Moscow has said.
The town, which has been the scene of fierce fighting since August 2022, is heavily fortified and sits on a hill, with many high-rise concrete buildings in the area, allowing for fire control of the surrounding terrain.
In a statement on Saturday, the ministry said Russian forces took over the town.
However, facing inevitable encirclement, they abandoned the town, and over 40 Ukrainian troops surrendered.
The ministry added that the Russian forces captured “considerable trophies” in the liberated town, including abandoned NATO-standard ammunitions and weapons: Polish-made silent mortars, Turkish- and American-made automatic grenade launchers, small arms, and other equipment.
Ugledar was captured as Russia continues offensive operations in Donbass after taking control of dozens of towns in recent months.
