Kremlin slams as fake news rumors of DPRK military’s participation in special operation

MOSCOW, October 10. /TASS/. Media allegations about the participation of the Korean People's Army servicemen in Russia's special military operation in Ukraine are nothing but a piece of fake news, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov has told a news briefing.

"It looks like another piece of fake news," he said.

South Korean Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun has alleged that DPRK soldiers might have been sent to Ukraine. In this way he interpreted the alliance agreement between Moscow and Pyongyang.

The minister also said that some servicemen from the DPRK allegedly could have already died on the territory of Ukraine.

On June 19, Russia and the DPRK signed a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement, which implies military assistance in case of a defensive war. While answering questions on the matter on June 20, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the Ukrainian regime had launched aggression against the Lugansk and Donetsk people's republics, recognized by Moscow, before they became part of Russia, and the legal norms of the agreement were not retroactive. Also, the Russian leader pointed out that Moscow needed no one's help in the special military operation.

Russia has “irrefutable evidence” of the supply of toxic chemicals to Kiev, the country’s mission to the UK has said

The West has been facilitating the supply of banned toxic chemicals to Kiev for use as chemical weaponry on the frontlines, the Russian Embassy in the UK has said.

The mission issued the claim on Tuesday in response to a new round of sanctions imposed by London targeting Russia’s Radiological Chemical and Biological Defense Forces (RChBZ) and its head, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov. London has accused them of “flagrant violation of the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC).”

The embassy strongly rejected the accusations, pointing out that Moscow destroyed its chemical arsenal years ago, with the process overseen by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW).

“Russia strictly adheres to the norms of international law, including the provisions of the Geneva Conventions and the Chemical Weapons Convention. There are no chemical weapons in the arsenals of our Armed Forces, which has been confirmed by international inspections,” the mission said.

In reality, London’s accusations were intended to divert attention from the numerous instances of use of chemical weapons by Kiev’s forces during the conflict against Moscow, the embassy suggested.

“By groundlessly accusing Russia, they are keeping silent confirmed facts of the use of prohibited toxic substances and chemical agents by the Kiev regime forces,” it stated, accusing the collective West of facilitating the supply of such toxins to Ukrainian troops.

Russian forces push Ukrainian troops beyond LPR administrative border

LUGANSK, October 11. /TASS/. Russian forces have pushed Ukrainian troops out of their positions near the settlement of Myasozharovka and advanced by 1.5 km to reach the administrative border of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR), military expert Andrey Marochko told TASS on Friday.

"Our troops have managed to push the enemy out of its positions southwest of the settlement of Myasozharovka in active combat operations. This has enabled Russian forces to advance by 1.5 km and reach the LPR administrative border," he said.

With the advance near Myasozharovka, Russian troops have also begun to deliver "more precise fire" at enemy units stationed in the area of the community of Lozovaya, he said.

Russia’s Defense Ministry reported on September 29 that Battlegroup West units had liberated the settlement of Makeyevka as a result of successful offensive operations. As Marochko pointed out, the Ukrainian army controlled less than 1% of LPR territory after Russian troops liberated Makeyevka.
