katika kufanya uchunguzi wangu,nilitumia keyword "slums in east Africa".
matokeo yake ni kwamba,karibia mamia ya tweets zote nilizo zipitia baada ya ku-press kitufe cha search kwenye search bar ya mtandao wa Twitter,zilii-refer kenya kwa kuhusisha zaidi slums zinazopatikana nairobi.
ni tweets chache sana zilizoi-refer Tanzania,Uganda,Burundi au Rwanda.
kwa muktadha huo,kenya ndio nchi pekee inayoongoza kwa slums EA na si tz kama anavodai mleta mada.
ni mujungu tu na chuki za wakenya kwa mama Tanzania.

Pili, Germany, Austria Switzerland na Luxembourg wote wanaongea lugha moja... Deutsch/Kijerumani. lakini kila nchi inaongea tofauti na mwenzake. just some slight difference. (sadly you won't get the difference coz you know nothing about the two languages which I know perfectly well).

Yeah, there aint any slums in Dar, cos pretty much the entire place is shantytown. There isnt any particular place u can describe as a slum

Engineers distinguish between weight and mass, coz they know that SI unit of former is Newton (N) and the later is Kilogram (Kg). But on other hand the layman in engineering are using those two terms synonymously. Again engineers are using two terms force and pressure differently, coz they know that their SI UNITS are Newton (N) and Pascal (p) but others equate force with pressure.
The point I try to make in here is that, if you are not a professional in general planning scheme (gps), town and country planning (real estate planning) and land laws it could be very difficult to decipher in these two concepts slums vs unplanned settlements.

So, to cut the long story short, most of the Dar neighborhoods comprise mostly of unplanned settlements, but with few slums and.........planned settlements, right?
As I had implied in one of my comments above, whether slums or unplanned settlements or whichever phrase u pipo w'd prefer to refer to them, they are still pretty much an eyesore.....and they provide the impression that this Dar is such a poor and disorganized city.
