did you read before posting?
"Kenya opted out of the project sighting irregularities"
nowhere said "kenya katengwa"
don't be desperate, always trying to change the narrative to appear as though we the bad ones... anyway it's good for y'all, plus it'll be sort of a better competition, Tug of war!!

Others moved on despite Kenyan reservations. Anayekutenga hakuambii.

It's not desperation when ten years preceding 2013 over 300 billion was sort from NSE and since 2013 only 9 billion has been sort from NSE in initial public offerings.

Wacha uongo wewe exchanges zote within the region zinakuwa active when foreigners are active.
i) Boss!!

NB: stock markets run on sentiment and Kenyan individual investors buy and sell at almost the same times as institutional and foreign investors, especially in the profit reporting period.

" The EAC Capital Markets Infrastructure project is part of the World Bank’s $26.18 million project which was approved in March 2011 to lay a foundation for the financial sector integration among the EAC member states ahead of the implementation of a single currency regime whose initial 2024 deadline is a subject of review. "

Yani mpaka 2020 bado munhisi uchungu!!!
Haya sasa uskie kutoka kwa mkenya tena:
i) Mkitaka tuungane kwa kulainisha kodi afrika mashariki, tunakubali.
ii) Mkitaka tuungane kurahisisha uwezo wa watu kuingia na kutoka nchi yoyote sawa tutakubaliana.
iii) Mkitaka tuungane watu waweze kununua shamba popote afrika mashariki sawa tutafurahia

So, can you show me where Tanzania said it will operate on a joint currency? I do not operate on speculations.

Are you illiterate which part of "Financial integration among eac member states" and "single currency by 2024" is hard to understand? This is the beginning and the ultimate goal of this project in the financial sector "a single currency by 2024". Kenya wants nothing to do with that, that is why we do not even want to participate in the first step. Understood?

Go back and read the article in full, then figure out why this first step is needed to achieve a single currency by 2024.

I don't have a problem with a section of countries in the region moving forward on areas of cooperation under the principle of variable geometry. Besides securities are very risky especially with lax safeguards and a sluggish economy that has seen a number of stocks de-listing with some stock shading some historical worth.

African countries coming together in a competitive and sometimes dangerous world to have a united front on any issues is always good and not "upuzi" no matter the material valuation of that initiative. It is like dismissing EAC initiative because it is not at par with Nigeria in terms of population or GDP or Algeria in terms of geographical size.

Separate individual countries experiencing different macroeconomic forces cannot have uniform taxes without adverse effects, such measures can only be carried out by a political union that has power to execute monetary and fiscal policies without negative effect on the big and small economies.

There is freedom of movement in East Africa, of course you have to get some sort of permit to move around East Africa in all the States. What is not there is the right of residence for East Africans which what you must be referring to. How to solve it refer to paragraph above.

You and I know land is a nonstarter regional issue. Kenya only allow foreigners to lease land and Tanzania only allow foreigners to co-lease land with majority Tanzanian shareholding. How to bridge the gap on this issue for east Africans refer to my paragraph three.

Ultimate unity will just be an exercise in futility if any of the countries in the region are left out. There isn't much Kenya and Rwanda can achieve on the real issues of cooperation. None of this cooperation is possible without with a self-serving attitude or an attitude of dismissing or degrading what we don't like or can't have from the region.

I am Kenyan not Tanzanian.

When were Kenyans consulted and said that they don't want financial integration or single currency in the region? Kenya has already ratified the monetary Union protocol. Even though a monetary union is a dangerous outfit if you look at Greece (small economy) and Germany( a big economy in EU) without a political union to make joint corresponding fiscal and monetary policies.

If you believe in protocols, why then are you still a member of EAC?
