Tz does not produce technology products, they are a mineral rich country..ever heard of a silicon valley in Saudi arabia / Qatar / UAE? Specialization is key in having competitive advantage, and for what you dont produce you get from the best not 3rd rate kenya

Most mineral rich nations don't advance tech wise.. digging up minerals from the ground and selling them raw requires very definite tech that is even brought by the foreign companies that do it.. mtaachiwa tu mashimo minerals zikiisha.

That is why dubai has now transitioned from mineral to tourism/hotel and finance.
You cannot depend on mineral wealth forever..That is why ATCL had to be revived, mineral law revised and Tz Tourism board revamped.
If any tech is required in the economy, Tz will import from us, china korea or japan..Not from third word kenya

ha ha you are already importing, last year was doing some remote trouble shooting for a software company with a TZ client.
the TZ company had to switch from the Indian providers after their software was unable to integrate with their ERP.
mind you the TZ client was referred to us by the equipment manufacturer - CISCO INC.
hata sitaki kukwambia huyo client, a big TZ company...magu akiskia hiyo atawafunga jela.

Ofcorse, there are many kenyan companies that have invested in Tz, expect them to use kenyan IT. Thats the beauty of capitslism. What you wount see is a deliberate effort by government policy to buy third rate kenyan IT, GoT would rather subsidize expensive Japanese/US tech than expose the economy to substandard products..Even GoK knows this and seldom buys any localy developed software..Its simply 3rd rate shiet

ha ha "seldom buys locally developed software???" , the problem is that you only hear when people complain about a tender that has been given to a foreign company.
I can name dozens of software from Kenyan developers i personally know who have sold systems to the govt. I included.
The ICT industry in Kenya may not be at the class of the Chinese, Americans , Indians or Israelis ...but it's ages ahead of TZ.
