What if we all decide to put away our differences and we decide to form a political federation composed of 6 states. Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania , Rwanda, Burundi and South Sudan. With all the resources such as oil in kenya, uganda and south sudan and gas and gold in Tanzania and arable land in Rwanda and Burundi and a population of 130 million enough to attract investments from all over the countries not forgetting financial capitals such as Dar es Salaam, Kigali, Juba, Bujumbra, Nairobi and Kampala plus political stability lets say presidency is rotational among the 5 states for a single term of 4 years how will the Federal Republic of East Africa fare in Africa and the World

I've already started to figure out how the constitution should look like. coz we need an unbiased one to cub greenness, tribalism, corruption, nepotism etc etc.
 
Yap...if we can come with a good constitution say based on federal parliamentary system we will be one of the strongest countries economically politically and financially in the world. we will within short time host world cup, olympics and even lead africa in sports music and education. we will be one of the most diverse countries. if people open their eyes and see the benefit of political federation they will urgently go for it. though i suspect the countries that may form federation fast is kenya uganda rwanda and south sudan while the rest will follow later
 
Wasiwasi wangu ikifika kipindi cha Kenya kutoa rais itakuwaje?, inawezekana wakatuletea marais wawili kwa mpiga, wale wa kule wakiapisha na kule kwengine wanaapisha, labda Kenya na South Sudan wasiruhusiwe kutoa marais.
 
Economically USA and Europeans would not allows this to happen!
 
The federation shall come to its end when Uganda's last term President comes for he/she won't agree to leave the office as per constitution. Ugandans are like Mugabe when it comes to presidency
 
We shall only put tight laws which make it possible to amend or violate and the leader will have no other way other than to obey the constitution,
 
First we need to kill nepotism, tribalism, and corruption and put a law to criminalize all head of states who steal public funds for their own benefits. Without this in place, we are just playing bongo fleva.
 
Labda politicians walazimishe. Lakini ki uhalisia haiwezi toke. Ingewezekana miaka ya 60s na 70s. Sasa hivi tumejua mambo mengi sana ni bora tukabaki hivi hivi tu. Maana puppet kenyans wapo wanatumiwa mno na whites.
 
itakua ngumu sahii...pengine tungefanya hivi right when we were gaining independence since most EAC countries gained Independence at almost the same time...it would have worked then...sahii Museveni na Kagame washagundua utamu wa kuwakandamiza raia wao...hawawezi kuachilia kiti cha mamlaka hata iwe nini...

Vilevile ardhi yote ya Kenya iko mikononi mwa wazungu na wanasiasa.

The process is already in motion, much as many people would like to deny.
We have a customs union, common market and we are fast moving to a monetary union. We need to build and strengthen these crucial pillars. Sometimes I agree with Museveni's up-down approach though that we need a political federation first and the rest will naturally follow.

Nadhani sio haki kuzungumzia ofisi za kisiasa za shirikisho la kisiasa la afrika mashariki wakati hujajua katiba ikoje na mgawanyo wa madaraka utakuwaje.
Tusubiri wataalam kutoka nchi zote wakae waandae katiba alafu tujadili based on that.

What do you mean? They WANT it to happen ili wawe na easy access to masoko ya Afrika Mashariki. Ukiset up katika nchi moja unapewa automatic access to nchi zote bila kuogopa kupigwa kodi mara mbilimbili.
Na hapo ndo tatizo lilipo. Wanataka integration iwafaidi wao na sio sisi. Tuwe makini sana hawa westerners wasije hijack hii process na interests zao.

I prefer a federal SEMI-PRESIDENTIAL system. Two principals. Points of power. President and Prime Minister. Itapunguza uwezekano wa mtu mmoja kuhijack the State for personal gains. Na pia itaongeza cohesion kwa vile both President and Prime Minister cannot come from the same member state.

No need for union. Mimi sioni faida yake kwa sasa. Tusubiri miaka 100 ijayo nchi zijikomboe kwanza ki uchumi. Imagine Kenya wanadaiwa 60% ya GDP na deni ni kubwa 300% ya revenue yao. Je, nani atabeba mzigo huo? Vipi muhusu ukabila wa wakenya. Huoni wanaweza ambukiza EA tukaanza kubaguana? Mimi sitaki hii union. Labda tuungane na Comoros au zambia
 
Federation with Kenya? this is insane, may be Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and South Sudan but to sail in the same ship with Kenyans is impossible coz they still embrace the white fathers as their small gods
