[h=4]Roberto Mancini says City are focused and ready for what he believes will be a tough test against Villarreal.[/h]The City boss believes his team need to be at their best to beat the La Liga outfit, who currently sit bottom of the group, if the Blues are to keep in touch with Bayern Munich and Napoli.
"It’s a difficult stadium to play at and many teams have struggled there over the years," he said.
"It is a small ground and the supporters get right behind their team so I think if we want to win we will need to play really well.
Villarreal showed that they are a very good side at the Etihad Stadium and they could have maybe taken a draw

...Roberto Mancini
"They will be very tough, but we need to win because we want to progress to the next stage of the competition. As a club, I think we maybe having our best moment for maybe 20 or 30 years because we are top of the Premier League and playing Champions League football.
"The team spirit and the feeling at the club is very good but we have a lot of work to do to try and stay where we are."
With David Silva playing in Spain at club level for the first time since leaving Valencia in 2010, there was plenty of interest in the return of the Prodigal Son, too.
"I saw David for the first time when I was with Inter Milan in 2005 and he was a great player then – now he is one of the best in the world and a very important player for us," said Mancini.
"When he arrived at City he took time to settle in and find his feet, but I think playing in England has made him a better player because he has become much stronger and can do everything include making and scoring goals."
Pablo Zabaleta said the Blues are disregarding the reported Villarreal injury crisis as they have to go into the game fully focused.
"They try to play attractive, attacking football so if we want to win this game we’ll need to be at our best no matter what their starting eleven is," said Zaba.
"We know they have a number of injured players, but we cannot go into the game thinking that this will make this game any easier because it won’t – they are a quality side who don’t often lose at home.
"Our focus is to get three points and we are not interested in anything else."
