Three days after the fall of his Bab al-Azizia citadel, elusive Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi held last meeting of his clan on a street in southern Tripoli amidst gunfire to plan his and his family's exit.
The meeting in a complex on Friday with his son Khamis and daughter Aisha was the last confirmed sighting of Gaddafi before he made a dash across the desert to hole up in his home region of Sabha, on the edge of the Sahara, the Telegraph reported.
The extraordinary details of the flight of Gaddafi - considered now to be the most wanted man on earth - was recounted by a soldier of the ultra-loyalists Khamis brigade escorting the fleeing cavalcade, who was captured by the rebels, the paper said.
17-year-old Abdulsalam Taher Ali said that he had heard talk in the convoy that they were headed towards the city of Sabha, a place in the middle of Sahara, long mooted as the dictator's final redoubt.
The soldier said that Gaddafi, his son and daughter held the clan summit for 10-15 minutes before converging into two heavily armed convoys of Land Cruisers to dash across the desert.
While Gaddafi and his son's 25 car convoy took the direct route to Sabha, 85 kilometres away escorted by a Posse of 90 guards. Aisha and other members of the family took the circuitous route to head for Sabha and then on to the Algerian border.
Recounting what was to prove Khamis's final journey, Taher Ali said that Gaddafi's son decided at first to ride in a Mercedes but changed his mind to ride an armoured Toyota Land Cruiser.

Majority of Libyans were never happy with Ghadaffi, they were denied their rights to speak their rights to their freedom of expression
Even if he was acting as a revolutionary it was just from outside and brainwash most of our African leaders and some of our people

Ni wazi kuwa katika vita mara zote kuna uhalifu wa kivita. Ni kweli katika hili la huyu binti linahitaji uchunguzi zaidi kabla ya hatua zaidi za kisheria, lakini haikanushiki (kulingana na familia yake) naye ni mwathirika (victim) kwa sehemu fulani.

The man, who asked not to be named, said: It all got a bit messy on the first night, because people were so excited to be in a house like that. It is just utter, utter luxury.
They were drinking and smoking and there was a real party atmosphere. People were in the swimming pool and the Jacuzzi, which were ice cold, and then going into the sauna to warm up.
Photographs taken inside the house showed the group posing with the Libyan flag as they sprawled across designer furniture, with widescreen television screens in every room.

A viral text message was sent to hundreds of mobile phones giving the address of the neo-Georgian house in Hampstead Garden Suburb.
Insiders said the mood of the protest changed as the squatters were joined by Libyan exiles.
One told the Mail: At first it was a mix of hippy activists, international students and anarchist-types who had obviously done this before they knew the law and what to do.
There was quite a party atmosphere, but then the leaders started setting out rules, saying there should be no drinking, no excess, and that we should only light candles, or we could be charged with stealing electricity.
As the night went on, more Libyans started arriving, and the atmosphere changed. They were saying we needed to keep the house in trust for the Libyan people.

We will not leave until we give this house back to the Libyan people.
The Government has seized more than £300million in assets belonging to the Gaddafi family since the crisis in Libya began.
Saif, 38, lived in London when he was a PhD student at the London School of Economics, and the house was bought for him in 2009 mortgage-free through a holding company registered in the British Virgin Islands.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said the protest was a civil matter and there had been no arrests.
Neighbour Geoffrey Bernstein, 58, said: I dont support breaking into peoples houses, but in this case Im prepared to make an exception.

What Freedom did they have? It was only the Gadaffi kids who had freedom and Money, how can all your goverment run by your kids?

It seems you have forgotten what he did to Tanzanians during Uganda/Tanzania War 1979; well if we did not have that War right now we would have been very developed, before the War Then Tanzania did not have Debt.
