Uchaguzi 2020 Tundu Lissu is not Presidential Material

Now that Tundu Lissu has made some progress in his convalescence, it is of no surprise that he has decided to get back into the fray.

He has done several interviews with both foreign and domestic media outlets, he has penned a letter from a Nairobi hospital bed, and lastly held a presser In Nairobi right before his voyage to Belgium. I wonder if we’ll also get a ‘letter from a rehab room in Brussels or wherever he’s at in Belgium. We shall see.

Having done all that, he is also now fair game. It’s now okay to respond to him, to attack him [not physically], to criticize him, etc.

Because he has basically picked up where he left off, I’m starting to hear some folks in certain quarters float his name as a potential 2020 presidential candidate. Perhaps these folks think he has shown he has what it takes to take on the JPM in the next presidential contest. That’s fine. Nothing wrong with that. If I were him I’d probably try to parlay the notoriety I’ve gained over these past two years into something bigger, like the presidency.

But I’ve said it so many times, right here and elsewhere, that he is not a presidential material. He is, at best, a political gadfly, and maybe, at worst, a rabble-rouser.

What makes Lissu a presidential Material is
1. He cherishes the rule of law, his unshakable commitment to law and justice since the times of Bulyanhulu saga conforms to this.

2. He is fearless and courageous, he can make a good commander in chief, who will protect the boundaries and interests of the country without fear.

3. He has a high I.Q and E.Q, these distinguished traits can make him a great president with sound judgements, development visions.

4. He is democratic, he abhors any forms of dictatorship tendencies, therefore he will steer the country towards her constitutional charter that explicitly states that " This Country is a democratic country".

5. Just like the former president JK once stated " No school for learning how to govern as a president", I don't see why Lissu can't make a good president while in every mission that he had undertaken either as a freelancer activist or a politician he had left a mark that distinguishes him from his peers. So to cut the story short, Any person who stands for people, craves for their freedoms and liberties, a person who is hurt on their economic woes and has ability to make their lives a little bit better, deserves to be their leader.

Nyani Ngabu please, have mercy on his poor soul.

Last time he was heralded as the next chairperson of his party and a flagbearer for 2020 he was riddled with 38 bullets, thank God he survived.

I hope he decides to come back to Tanzania after his full recovery let alone run for office. Since we don't know for sure who was gunning for him, the guy may be too paranoid, scared of his own shadow.

I sure would like to know the people behind that heinous attempt.

I watched his speech in his hospital gown. He looks fool and stupid. If he was looking for sympathy in Kenya, he is in wrong country. This man is a traitor and there is nothing true which came from his mouth. All he said was speculation with no evidence. Yes there was investigation in Kenya about Ouko, but what was the outcome? And who was charged? Kenya lost over 39 people including children shot by police with evidence provided and no action was taken against Kenyan Police. What motive the government has for killing Tundu Lissu? Chadema is losing members everyday. Let him look on his back, he might find the person who shot him is the one who rushed him to Kenya for treatment and I put to him the motive of shooting him is because he was becoming popular than his party leader. The problem is, no one will pay attention on his claim. We have seen killings all over the world, and every human being life is important. What make him think his life is more important than anyone else for world leaders to pay attention especially this time of Trump and Kim. He is dreamer. I beg Tanzania government to stop paying for his treatment, let him come home and be treated here just like other Tanzanians. He is becoming big for his boots.
