Hazina maana kwako wengine wanachota Ilm kutoka kwa Mohamed Said.

Wakati mwingine ushabiki wako kwa Mohamed Said huwa unachekesha sana, kwani yeye Mohamed taarifa za hao watu alizipata wapi kiasi kwamba yeye awe na 'monopoly' nazo na sisi wengine tusiwe na uwezo wa kuzipata kabla ya kuwekwa hapa na yeye?
 

Naam ndugu yangu! Lakini ngoja tuwasaidie wale ambao wameakuwa wakiamini huu utafiti uchwara wa WARSHA mbele kidogo:

Hoja nzima ya "dhulma" katika elimu inatokana na "utafiti" wa chuo kikuu kimoja tu katika Tanzania nzima. Na katika hicho chuo ni baadhi ya faculties tu zimeangaliwa. Na katika hizo ambazo hazikuangaliwa ni zile ambazo ni muhimu kwa namna ya pekee - Medicine, Kilimo na Veterinary Science. Na ikumbukwe huko kote kilichoangaliwa na majina tu. Yaani, "watafiti" wakachukua kitabu cha majina wakaanza kuangalia nani ana jina la Kikristu na nani ana jina la Kiislamu. Ambaye hakuwa na jina linaloashiria dini yake basi aliwekwa kwenye "wengine" na hata wale ambao wenye majina 'neutral' nao waliwekwa pembeni. Majina kama "Neema, Baraka, Furaha, Daudi" yanawekwa pembeni. Hili tatizo la kwanza - na ni dogo.

Tatizo la pili la "utafiti" wakina Mohammed Said na kundi lake ni kuwa unajaribu kuonesha 'systematic discrimination" katika mfumo wa elimu. Bw. Said hapo nyuma akijinukuu mwenyewe anasema hivi-kwa ujasiri wa kisomi:

Kimsingi anadai kuwa kwa kuangalia 'utafiti' wao huo walifikia hitimisho kuwa kulikuwa na 'sytem' ambayo ilikuwa 'discriminatory to Muslim Youths'. Sasa mtu anaweza kufikia hitimisho hilo kama amefanya utafiti wakutosha - wenye kuhusisha sample ya kutosha na yenye perimeters zinazoeleweka. Kwa kuangalia majina kwenye kitabu peke yake inatosha kweli?

Lakini zaidi la kuudhi ni kweli kwa kuangalia UDSM peke yake tu anaweza kufikia hitimisho la kuweza kuextrapolate his findings to the nation as a whole starting with Ministry of Education?

Mtu yeyote anayesoma takwimu na hata wanaojifunza Research 101 cha kwanza kabisa ni kuwa na sample ya kutosha. Lakini siyo sample tu bali kuna kitu muhimu sana ambacho ni "random sample". Na pale ambapo unataka kuonesha 'systematic discrimination' kama watu wa WARSHA walivyotaka kufanya basi huwezi kutumia chuo cha elimu ya juu kimoja.

Ili angalau tuweze kupima matokeo yale ni vizuri tungejua mgawanyo (distribution) ya Wakristu, Waislamu na Wengine katika elimu ya juu katika miaka hiyo ilikuwaje:

Na hapo hatujagusa vyuo vya Ualimu, na vyuo vingine vya elimu ya juu vya wakati huo hadi hivi vya sasa. Sasa ni akili gani inamfanya mtu achukue 'matokeo' ya chuo kimoja na kuyafanya yawe ya nchi nzima? HHivi kweli hakuna watu wenye uwezo wa kuwauliza hawa kina Mohammed Said na Warsha validity ya 'utafiti' wao? Hivi kweli hakuna wasomi Tanzania wanaoweza kudebunk this pseudo-research?

Na kweli wapo Waislamu wasomi wenye kuamini 'utafiti' huu? Msingi wa imani yao kwenye utafiti huu ni nini? NI kwa vile wamesema imefanywa na Waislamu? is that enough?

Tuendelee na darsa la mwalimu wangu Sheikh Malik:

Adam Nasibu meanwhile in connive with of the government travelled to Moshi and the reason he told the BAKWATA headquarters was that he was going to Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre (KCMC) for treatment. But that was not thereason.

Once in Moshi with the help of Sheikh Senare the BAKWATA chairman inKilimanjaro and Sheikh Jambeni from Tanga and other few handpicked BAKWATA members he called a secret meeting the agenda which was how to oust Sheikh Mohamed Ali from leadership.

It was decided by conspirators that a special meeting should be called in Dar es Salaam immediately to discuss what had transpired in BAKWATA since the banning of Muslim seminaries. The government put at its disposal it smanpower and resources to make the meeting a success.

Members of the BAKWATACentral Committee were sent invitations through police message. This type ofcommunication is usually used by the government for urgent messages because ofits efficiency.
The meeting was called and Sheikh Mohamed Ali was accused of floutingthe BAKWATA constitution, conducting elections under an invalid constitutionand in collaboration with Warsha, for "mixing religion withpolitics." Sheikh Mohamed Ali wastherefore expelled from BAKWATA and Warsha "banned."

But it was not possible toban Warsha because the organisation was not in the first place registered. It was not therefore possible to ban an entity which does not officially exist in government registered organisations. The statement that Warsha is prohibited by the government from indulging in anything which has to do with Muslims ofTanzania did not affect its activities in any way.

More so Warsha's stature among Muslims was elevated and BAKWATA continued to be a pariah to Muslims. Thegovernment gave the transfer of power in BAKWATA special significance bypublishing the changes in BAKWATA in its daily paper.

Warsha's mentor, Dr. Malik was declared a prohibited immigrant by theg overnment and was required to leave the country within twenty-four hours. His students advised him to go to Zanzibar to wait and plan his next move. Dr.Malik was received on Aboud Jumbe's orders while his students sorted outcertain issues for him, and packed his belongings.

Arrangements were made andDr. Malik went to Nairobi where he was employed by Islamic Foundation. Butbefore he left Dr. Malik told his students that BAKWATA were late in asking the government to deport him, he had already accomplished his work. Muslim occasions like Maulid celebrations were used by the government and BAKWATA to try to diffuse the situation by issuing statements condemning Warsha and whitewashing the government.

During Maulid celebrations of 1982 in Tabora, AdamNasib in the presence of the Vice-President, Rashid Kawawa and in live broadcast in the state owned radio warned the government of enemies who had invaded the country, meaning Dr. Malik, Sheikh Mohamed Ali and Warsha. Warsha had overtime managed to establish centres in certain areas of the country.
Warsha responded to these accusations by distributing leaflets explaining position on the future of Islam in Tanzania and made Muslims beaware of their activities in trying to liberate Muslims. The government and BAKWATA could not match Warsha's truth with their propaganda. Muslims were sympathetic to Warsha and took Warsha's struggle as their own struggle. Muslims helped Warsha to establish a school Masjid Quba and Islamic Centrewhich was owned and managed by them.

In retaliation to these efforts thegovernment refused to register the school. The school was perceived by thegovernment as a centre of "Muslim fundamentalism." The government went further to subvert the school by warning Muslim parents that students completing their education at Masjid Quba would not be recognised by it andwould not be considered for further education or for employment. Warsha was not to be deterred they decided to run the school and educate Muslim children even without government registration.

Members of Warsha used to say that they havetheir consent from Allah; they don'tneed any permission from anyone. This was Warsha's motto. The school remained blacklisted by the government until 1988 when Prof. Malima as the first Muslim Minister of Education registered it. Indeed Dr. Malik had accomplished hiswork. The Muslims were aware of machinations against them and the strugglea gainst Christian hegemony in Tanzania had passed to a different flock of Muslims. In the coming years students of Prof. Malik and later students of those who were students of Dr. Malik in 1970s formed other powerful organisations and provided leadership in various Muslim organisation.

Kwa vile hakueleza ni ngumu kutumia neno UDSM as whole labda angesema sample data zake zimetoka faculty ABCD kwasababu ABCD na zitakapofanyiwa extrapolation basi zinaweza kutoa true conclusions kwasababu ABCD.

Na bado kuna maswali, hivi aliwezaje kujua kuwa Shukrani, bahati, zawadi, Mhina ni waislam au wakristo.
Kwamba mtu akiitwa Halima basi ni mwislam hata kama ameamua kumuenzi bibi yake ili hali yeye ana dini tofauti.

Ukisoma jedwali la Muslim vs Non muslims bado data zake ni raw. Mohamed anapaswa aeleze non muslims wanaundwa na kundi gani kwa kuonyesha makundi hayo kwa mchanganuo na namba zao za enrollment.
Waislam wenyewe wana groups kama Ismailia, Shia, Bohora, Sunni, Kadian, Sufi n.k. na hivyo kusema waisla as general bado haikidhi haja ya utafiti.

Hoja atakayokuja nayo ni kuwa waislam ni waislam bila kujali madhehebu na hapo tutamuuliza vipi Ismailia na Shia wawe tofauti katika elimu na wengine?

Kuondoa faculty za medicine, vet na Agric huenda ni kwa kutojua au kwa makusudi.
Nadhani lengo la Mohamed ni kutaka kuonyesha kuwa kukosekana au uwiano tofauti wa viongozi serikalini unatokana na chaguzi za kuingia chuo ambazo hufanywa systematic. Kwamba si rahisi kupata bwana shamba, afisa mifugo au dakatari katika fani ya utawala.

Ukiangalia jedwali la shule za msingi kwenda sekondari bado Mohamed anajichanganya kama si kuchanganya umma.
Kwanini alichagua Dar es Salaama na kwa miaka miwili na wala siyo Tanga, Lindi au Musoma.

Wanajamvi ni lazima mambo ya kisayansi yafanywe kisayansi na kwa kuzingatia kanuni za kisayansi.
Hili la kubandika namba halafu tuambiwe ni ukweli haliingii akilini mwa wale wanaotumia sehemu za ubongo wao.

Huo alioufanya Mohamed si utafiti ni kitu kinachofanana na utafiti na pengine kingefanywa kwa uadilifu na umakini zaidi kingeweza kuwa utafiti.

Na mwisho, mleta mashataka ni Mohamed, mtafiti ni Mohamed na mtoa hukumu ni Mohamed.
