Five people were wounded by overnight shelling in the western Russian town of Shebekino, in the Belgorod region, that damaged multiple buildings, the governor of the region has said this morning.
Three people were hospitalised as a result of the alleged Ukrainian rocket strike on the region, Belgorod governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said on the Telegram messaging app.
He also said one man had to have an amputation as a result of his injuries.
"There is a direct hit on a private residential building, as a result it caught fire," he wrote.
"There are also calls about numerous damage to windows and balconies in private and apartment buildings, there are houses with walls pierced by shells.⠀
"There is a hit in the roof of one of the administrative buildings, the roof is on fire. Fire crews are on site.
"In another administrative building, shell fragments slashed the façade and smashed the windows."
