Unadhani mimi namaanisha kuwa employers ni perfect creatures? I know they are not, na wapo several empoyers ambao ni washenz.i tu pia, au wahuni, wana under-pay, wana create toxic working cultures kwenye maeneo yao ya kazi, etc.
But, unajua kwa nini nime-judge huyu ni kilaza? 10 yrs you are underpaid wewe unalalama tuu, huchukui hatua yoyote upo tuu.... Una CPA, una masters unalipwa laki 3, mwaka wa kwanza, wa pili, wa tatu, wa nne....... hadi wa kumi...? Kazi kubwa ni kulalama tuu...? Huyu lazima ni kilaza. Ni wale wasio add value yoyote ya maana kwenye organization.
Nitakupa mfano wangu mwenyewe, nina miaka 7 so far tangu nimalize internship. Sina Masters wala bado (ndo naisoma now-online), tayari nimebadilisha waajiri zaidi ya mara 5...! Why? Career growth, waajiri washenzi, economic growth, etc!
Na my current job, sikufanya application wala, i was literally head-hunted, if you know what that means. Why? Because I put 150% effort into whatever i am doing nikiwa nafanya kazi. And people notice that, na sifa haziishii kwa employer unaemfanyia kazi tu, zina spread!! Ila ukiwa seat warmer, aaahhh utapoteza muda sana tuuu, kwa sababu huna pa kwenda!! I can comfortably tell you that in the niche that i have picked in my job-industry, there are only a handful of people who are as
extraordinary as I am..... Sio kwamba najisifia, but i want you to see the angle that I am coming from.
Pia, mimi employer akiwa mshenzi, I dont complain..!! I start a job search, and move the fuc.k off..!!! Na nikifanya kazi sehemu ninahakikisha na-add value kweli kweli, sio tu kuwa seat warmer.... Kila sehemu ambayo niliondoka, walikua wananibembeleza na kuniita for negotiation kwamba why am i leaving, what could they do so that i stay. Principle yangu mimi ni MOJA. Nikiona employer anani underpay au hatimizi majukumu yake ipasavyo, naanza kutafuta kazi nyingine immediately..!!
