(ANSA) - NAIROBI, 09 FEB - Yesterday began in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, the classroom phase of the "Lab Innova for Africa - Tanzania", part of the "Lab Innova for Africa Luca Attanasio" project by Agenzia Ice. The technical-managerial training course aims to support the development and internationalisation of African companies in the agribusiness sector through theoretical lessons, group work and company testimonials.

The inauguration day was attended by the Italian Ambassador to Tanzania, Giuseppe Sean Coppola, the Director of the Ice Office in Nairobi, Giuseppe Manenti, the Director of Ice Addis Ababa, Claudio Pasqualucci, and Timoth Mmbaga, Director of the African Council of Tanzania, the initiative's local partner. "Lab Innova for Africa Luca Attanasio" is being implemented for the first time in Tanzania, a country that has recently become a priority for the Mattei Plan.

Launched in 2019, the project has been successfully implemented in 17 African countries, involving more than 450 companies on the continent with a focus on agribusiness and ICT. The initiative aims to improve the skills of African and Italian companies on how to operate effectively in each other's economic systems, contributing to the development of business, investment and partnership opportunities between Italy and Africa.

Tanzania has long played a leading role in the agricultural sector, registering significant progress and developments in recent decades. Today, the country boasts a wide variety of ecosystems that allow for the cultivation of numerous types of crops, guaranteeing the food needs of the population, exporting the surplus and adding value through business initiatives in the agro-industrial sector.

The country's commitment to modernisation, mechanisation and industrialisation has consolidated it as a key player in the regional agricultural landscape. During the training phase of the project, scheduled from 3 to 7 February, the 35 Tanzanian companies participating in the initiative will have the opportunity to develop skills in international trade, European certifications, supply chain sustainability and agricultural mechanisation.

The Lab Innova for Africa training also arrives in time for the Tanzania Business Forum, which will be held on 11 and 12 February in Dar es Salaam and will be a perfect opportunity to meet the Italian companies present and an opportunity to deepen trade opportunities between the countries.
