Perhaps there are lots of Kenyans in Tanzania, but I can assure you not as many as there are Tanzanians in Kenya. Besides, I am particularly against negative profiling of any human being because of their race, tribe, nationality.....especially if they are our neighbours. Beats me, why we let all these Chinese, Indians, Wazungus and we cannot tolerate our own brothers and sisters from across the border? The truth is, Kenyans often receive a raw deal in TZ. You don't have to go far to know that: just read comments here!

In as much as kenyans would loved to do business with and integrate fully with our neighbours,seeing the kind of venom that they solely reserve for kenyans we just have to walk away.its an uphill task working with and for a people so suspectious and hateful.

I really don't mind what goes on in here, but lets get something subtly clear, Kenyans are the biggest or second biggest investors in Tz, a position we well earned through pressing industrious zeal. It wasn't on a silver platter.

Just like Tz, Kenya has an open market policy. Come explore.

Tanzanians herein demand to be addressed with respect while addressing Kenyans in derogatory terms, its impossible.......esp when the accused are silent.

Tanzanians feel its wrong when Kenyans engage the Rwandeese, Ugandans and SS and sideline her. Do u blame us, inclusive of Ug and Rwanda? Is it our mistake when we obviously know , rest of EAC, that Tanzania prefers going south or solo? Anyway besides that, isn't the corridor in question a cargo holding corridor meant for the far flanked EAC member states. Why would TZ feel aggrieved then? Are the participating member states in this project forced? No, they did it out of sovereign will, to enhance trade that's y we chose a common customs office. Tz would never have done this and its no bad mouthing, we went ahead and intend to integrate our market securities, similar regulations etc, Tz misses out again....sth must be wrong with Tz and not Kenyans.

On tourism, Kenya is doing better than Rwanda and Uganda but we still decided to market it as EAC, we went ahead and installed common visas. Tanzania never wanted this too.

Is it our mistake to work with our neighbors? don't call Kenyans greedy. We are very accommodative n respect your sovereignty that's y when u say no we take it as a no and move on. Respect fellas.

I have heard many stories even on individual levels : Kenyans being denied to fly from Tanzanian airports, others being denied permits to conduct businesses. Let's discuss this issue because I believe those who are doing this, putting these laws, are not doing so for the benefit of the Tanzanians. I fear, before this 4th republic of CCM is out, most of our neighbours will be our enemies!

(I think we need to wisen up a little bit. This is yet another crappy screed from those who never came across Thomas Jefferson's statement that 'the man who reads nothing is better educated than the man who reads nothing but newspapers'.

Do not get me wrong, President Kikwete is worlds apart from President Kibaki. Kikwete is the epitome of what a modern President should be. He is a great President while Kibaki can only be referred to as a mediocre one.
But so was Mwalimu Nyerere vs President Jomo Kenyatta, so was Mwinyi/Mkapa vs Daniel Moi. All these facts should also remind us that the blame is not entirely on our Presidents, it is on us too. This just tells you Tanzanians are, by and large, a more civilized people than Kenyans. A President can only be as primitive as his people, at least most of the time.

Now about Presidents Kikwete and Obama meeting, well, it is a statement on the respect the American government and the President himself have on the value system of the people of Tanzania. It is an endorsement of the mature and democratic politics and governance Tanzanians have chosen to adopt. But it is not new. Presidents Bill Clinton and George Bush have done it before. They have snubbed Kenya and visited Tanzania. It is naive and childish to imagine that President Obama's dalliance with Kikwete is anything new just as it is naive for Kenyans to expect Obama to treat Kenya any preferentially. Even if we had conducted ourselves in a manner that is above board, the Americamn President does not lead a bunch of village elders. He leads a government of smart people who will not allow him to reduce the plattform of the American Presidency to a level where a country like Kenya occupies a special corner in his Presidency. Kenya stands to gain directly from the Barack Obama presidency just as Ghana, Djibout, Ethiopia and Swaziland do.............)
