Background. Tanzania has reported 480 positive cases, and 16 deaths of COVID-19 as of May 7, 2020. The government has adopted limited containment measures, including banning all public gatherings (except for worship), closing bars and restaurants, and mandating wearing face masks in Dar Es Salaam. Schools, colleges, and other training institutions have been closed and boarding students were required to return home. All international flights have been cancelled, but land borders remain open with active health screening at all points of entry. Government operations continue as normal, while some private enterprises have closed or adopted measures to fight the spread of the virus. The authorities are assessing the economic impact of COVID-19 and policy responses.

The government has granted VAT and customs exemptions to additional medical items requested by the Ministry of Health.

They are lying, bars are still open.
Unnecesssry gatherings are not all curbed.
Wearing mask in public is not mandatory any one can go out without wearing mask and he wont be questioned.
The president said that he is even thinking to reopen sports gatherings
