Mimi sijui ya Zimbabwe na SA, hapa tunazungumzia Kenya, where well over 70% of the black population depend on agriculture for their livelihoods. Do not tell me about Zimbabwe or wherever where the circumstances are so differnt. South Africa, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Ivory Coast.
In your right mind, do u really think that the European consumers of the African Coffee, Tea or flowers are unaware that the continent is inhabitted by the the black people, and do they really have the time to find out who really was behind the production of the beautiful flowers they are about to buy? Really? They wouldnt buy the beautiful carnations bcos.....of all the reasons.....it was produced by a black person?
How fantastic!
Now find out, who are these people...Export Promotion Council
Find out who are its executives.
What is the role of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives? Is it also headed by white people?
1) Kenya gets nod to export farm fish to European market
2) Kenyan Avocados: Connecting to High-value Export Markets
I swear to u, much of what u have stated above is complete rubbish. A person of your calibre, who claims to have been well educated and travelled shouldnt be talking thus. Why wouldnt the europeans buy commodities from Africa if it is not produced by a white person? That is complete nonsense.
Much of the tea and coffee produced here in Kenya is produced by Africans, the small scale farmers. Well over 70% of it. The fruits.....are mostly produced by the African farmers. And the tea buyers in Europe are pretty aware of the fact.
It is a huge fact u cannot shield from the the european consumers. I have never heard that Kenyan tea and coffee being boycotted in Europe or America bcos it is produced by the black farmers. In any case, they should know that Africa is inhabitted by black pipo.
The Starbucks, even has the pictures of the Kenyan Massai on its Coffee products imported from Kenya printed on the packages, and they shamelessly declare that it is "authentically Kenyan". And it sells really well. Kenyan coffee is regarded one of the best in the world, and it fetches high prices.
