THE DISTANCE: it's realy the only plausible reason for Uganda to go Tanga route. The fear of the alshbb terrorists is misplaced. Theirs is a menace that'll peter out soon, with the concerted efforts from the regional security operatives.
Their activities within Kenya are well contained.

This isnt a trouble just for the other countries.
Were it not for the many setbacks the alshbb has suffered in the recent times,wouldnt they by now have broadened their span of heinous activities to include even Tanzania? Who knows! Arent there Tanzanians already indoctrinated into their ideology of violence? Who knows what would set them off to start their thuggery well within Tz itself.

Even within Ug itself, there are islamic terrorists, and elemens opposed to Mr. Museveni's rule, who would resort to any means to undermine his regime. They would even cripple such vital infrastructure.

Naomba pia nyinyi mjaribu chama mbadala muone kama nchi haitabadilika.

Those're the acts of vandalism I was referring to earlier, some Kenyans resorting to punishing Uganda by destroying such facilities that Uganda depend on for their imports and exports.
Isolating Kenya due to its terror challenges is absurd to the extreme.

NB: the jaluos uprooted the railway to Uganda in 2008 when it was rumored that M7 had helped Kibaki rig the elections, and that he had even sent his security forces to try quell the violent protests in western Kenya. Brazzenly meddling into our affairs like that...!
