Kama utakumbuka vizuri, WB na IMF walilazimisha nchi zetu kutojihusisha kufanya biashara chini ya mpango ujulikanao kama "structure development Program", walikataa kwa serikali kutoa ruzuku kwa mashirika ya umma.

Tanzania kama nchi yakijamaa, mashirika ya umma lengo lake haikua kutengeneza faida, lengo lilikua ni kutoa Huduma, kwahiyo ruzuku ya serikali ilikua ni muhimu Sana kama ilivyo kwa KQ kwasasa.
 
Nadhani ulimaanisha Structural adjustment programme (SAPs) na ulivyosema ni kweli, zilimaliza Africa
 
Tatizo haujibu maswali badala yake unauliza maswali.
1)Kama Lori 50 zimefika Kisumu port, na uwezo wa meli kubeba ni 20 lories, unahisi mwenye lory atakubali kusubiri wakati anaweza kutembea na kufika haraka. Kumbuka akipakiza gari lake ktk meli, speed ya meli ni chini ya 40km/h, wakati akitembea anaweza kufika 70km/h.

2)Kama ni wewe ndiye unayefanya biashara ya lories, utakubali kulipa pesa/ kumpa biashara "competitor" wako?, kwasababu hata meli pia inafanya biashara ya transportation.

The project is being undertaken by Kenya railways and the main contractor for this project is( CRBC).
Kenya Navy also has a stake in the project.

Water transport ndo the cheapest mode of transport, hizo lori ishirini most likely zitalipa pesa kidogo kuliko gharama ya mafuta kutoka Kisumu hadi kampala ambayo ni 310km... fully loaded truck inakunywa kama 1.6L per km (atleast!) kama diesel ni ksh 100 per liter. 310km x 1.6 x 100 = 49,600 sh..
Hio 49,600 ni mafuta ya gari moja pekee, lakini kwavile meli itabeba hizo lory ishirini kwa mpigo, utakuta labda wanalipishwa kama 25,000 per lorry... Tena kumbuka malori hua yanapiga foleni pale kwa mpaka yakingoja kuvuka boda, mara nyengine hata hulala hapo, mbali na hilo, barabarani hua kuna magari mengine kwahivyo hio speed ya 70km/hr hauwezi uka maintain kwa lori ilhalli hio equivalent ya 40km/hr kule baharini hakuna msongamano wowote....
