The economists, have it that the most important advantage of a high level of foreign exchange reserves lies on political rather than economic curve. In most cases larger foreign reserve assists central banks to stabilise local currencies during crisis.

Also off late it has been observed by some people that reserves that can finance three months’ worth of import bills, is adequate. The Greenspan- Guidotti rule is sometimes used as a benchmark in maintaining foreign exchange reserves.

The rule suggests that developing countries should maintain reserves equal to all external debts that are becoming due next year. The large foreign reserve also increases the confidence of meeting all external debt and obligations, which in turn improves sovereign debt rating, so a country can get new money at cheap rates.

Kenya's Reserve account has always been around $7 billion for almost two years now. Hio Eurobond is not included. Wengi wenu hamjakuwa mkifuata foreign exchange reserve ya Kenya halafu saa hii mnataka kujifanya experts. Hio Eurobond ina kazi yake mahususi na sio kujaza foreign exchange reserve. Kazi ya Eurobond ni kulipa deni fulani na pia itafanya kazi zingine, lakini haitatumika kama reserve. This seems so obvious hata sijui kwa nini watu wanatapatapa

Najua hili. Kwa kipindi chake PM ndiye alikuwa head of government. Sasa kuanzia mwakani nafasi ya uPM itafutwa Uturuki. Na PM upendekezwa na Rais, kwa maana hiyo Erdogan hakujiweka tu kwenye uPM. Na wala hakujiongezea muda.



Russia usidanganyike na mbwembwe za Putin. Hata kwenye OECD haimo. Russia wamo kwenye BRICS: Brazil, Russia, India, China na South Africa. Hizi ni emerging economies. Huwezi kusema nchi zilizoendelea kwa level ya OECD countries (ambapo Turkey ni member).

Anayejidanganya ni wewe.

Swali langu bado linasimama: nitajieni nchi moja tu ambayo incumbent president alijiongezea muda wa kutawala ili alete maendeleo.

Billioni tano ya dollar, mkuu hio sio billioni tano ya Tanzania, na sio pesa kidogo. Mimi ni mkenya lakini siwezi kubali upotoke. Hii dunia hakuna msanii anaye dollar billioni 5. Hata Dr. Dre au J.Z hawana.

There is no doubt about kenya's $7b reserve. The issue is wherether the recent bond proceedes were used to padd this reserve, as per now, I have Not seen the prospectus (Only treasury)of how the bond was to be used.
But as kobello stated earlier, the issue is not about how much but how long. And this is dictated by avg monthly import bill that differs from country to country. Kenya's imports are more so logically the reserve should be more
