Bookworms of JF, what's your favorite book (s) and why?

Hello guys,
Tsundoku, is the Japanese word for buying new books and leaving them unread/ the act of buying books you don't read. I don't know the equivalent English phrase for Tsundoku yet.
Bibliomania-passionate enthusiasm for collecting and possessing books.

So the other day, I visited a friend of mine. She is a bibliophile and queen of tsundoku .
She has an entire of bookcase full of books she hasn't read and keeps buying more.

To make matters worse, She has bought multiple copies of multiple books . Okay look, She has 3 different editions of the same book (Good Omens) not to mention 5 copies of one book (Name of the Wind) et cetera, only because she forgets she already owns a book halafu ananunua tena.

Kwa hiyo akienda book shop anapenda kitabu kisha anakinunua akifika nyumbani anakuta tayari anacho. Yes she enjoys buying books and set it on a shelf, never go back to it. She has just started giving them away .

So guys, who is guilty of this? Are you a Tsundoku Master? Or a bibliophile ?

NB: Buying books and reading books are actually two entirely different hobbies.

[emoji2] Tsundoku. Nimepata neno jipya leo.

Vyote kwa pamoja lakini zaidi kukosa msukumo wa kusoma.
Mtu anatamani awe anasoma vitabu ila anashindwa.
Huyu anafanana na dada yangu kabisa..ila only she doesn't buy different editions of a same book. Sina hakika kama amewahi kumaliza kusoma hata a single book. Na akikuazima ni atakukumbusha huyo..mpaka ukirudishe umekoma...unaweza rudisha hujakimaliza😂😂

Hapa unataka kusemaje PP?
Feel attacked? The Monk.

Okay, Mfano unanunua kitabu and add it to your to-read pile na hauvisomi. I mean look at you, you have two piles,180 cm tall, 99.99% unread.

There is the word for what you do, that's TSUNDOKU. It's nice to have a name for you, isn't it?

Kuna wengine wanapenda kuwa na bookcases zimejaa vitabu kama sehemu ya decoration. Vile anaangalia vipo anapenda sana. Lakini sasa akisema asome hawezi.

The definition is very clear, I liked the idea. I don't know where do I fall but I always read the intro of the book before purchasing to avoid buying identical books unknowingly.

Second to confirm if I real need the book, otherwise I will end up buying the book and dumping it somewhere unread.

In my case, I am not far from Tsundoku but I need a certain version which is a bit better, I do read the books.

An avid reader ?
Ooh, I was just kidding.

Have you read "Thinking Fast and Slow"by Daniel Kahneman? I am currently reading this book. I heard so many people say it was incredible and WoW!!! it's really incredible.

This book held me hostage for something like 8hrs sijalala kabisa.
Give it a try if you haven't already.

Napenda choice yako ya vitabu. Inabidi nijaribu kujiimarisha aina hizi pia. Hiki nilisoma page mbili tu, sikuendelea.

Kwanini haukuendelea? Haupendi hizi psychology books?

Najua aina ya vitabu unavyopenda lakini.
Nadhani hazinivutii sana. Chache sana ambazo nimesoma na kuzipenda. Mfano Robert Greene pengine sababu anaweza historical na political stories kwenye hoja zake.
