AC Milan have completed the signing of 17-year-old midfielder Francesco Angelini from Rimini Berretti, a report claims.

The Rimini-born teenager played at Santarcangelo Giovanili until 2018 when he joined the youth team at his hometown club.

It is Gianluca Di Marzio that has confirmed the Rossoneri’s acquisition, and Angelini has already made his first-team debut during a Coppa Italia match, playing 45 minutes against Vis Pesaro.

He is an investment by Milan for the future and his agent Claudio Peverani helped get the deal over the line. Predominantly an out-and-out central midfielder, Angelini will join the Primavera setup immediately.

The overhaul of the club’s youth system has continued from the summer after a disastrous campaign in which they were relegated from the top flight last season.

This time around however they are on their way back up under coach Giunti, currently sat atop the Primavera B table having won 10 in a row in the league.

AC Milan is delighted to announce the acquisition of Belgian winger Alexis Saelemaekers from RSC Anderlecht on loan until the end of the 2019/20 Serie A season, with an option to make the deal permanent.

Born in Berchem-Sainte-Agathe (Belgium) on June 27, 1999, Alexis started his career at the RSC Anderlecht Academy before making his first-team debut on February 16, 2018 against Sint-Truidense VV. He has since then registered 2 goals in 57 appearances.

In 2018, Alexis earned his first call-up in the Belgium U-21 squad and made his debut on September 7 in a 2019 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifier against Malta.
Alexis will join his new teammates tomorrow (February 1) and will be unveiled to media during a press conference on Tuesday February 4, 2020. The press conference will be aired live on the Club’s TV Channel “Milan TV” and on the AC Milan Official App.
Welcome Alexis!

The transfer market is officially over and one of the names most linked to a departure from AC Milan was Lucas Paqueta.

The Brazilian midfielder, who asked coach Stefano Pioli not to be called up for the Rossoneri’s match against Brescia in the middle of the month, was reportedly on the radar of PSG, Juventus and Fiorentina.

In the end, however, the former Flamengo man’s departure did not materialize and he will stay at the San Siro at least until the summer.

After the end of the transfer market yesterday, Paqueta wrote this post on his Instagram page:
“I want to thank for all the messages I received in the last few days.

I want to clarify my situation. Thank God there was no depression, no chest pain or a desire to return to Brazil or pressure for a meeting,” he wrote.

“I want to thank all those who supported me and care about me. I’m fine, I will continue to give my best, working seriously to try to achieve my goals and always help Milan. Thank you all,” Paqueta added.

Milan are missing Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Simon Kjaer, Rade Krunic and Ismael Bennacer for their meeting with Hellas Verona.

It kicks off on Sunday at 14.00 GMT, click here for a match preview.

Coach Stefano Pioli had warned in his press conference that Ibrahimovic and Kjaer had been suffering from flu symptoms for several days.

Neither of these players are even in the squad for the Verona game, while Krunic has a muscular problem and Bennacer is suspended.

Lucas Biglia and Leo Duarte are also injured, so Alexis Saelemaekers gets his first call-up, along with Daniel Maldini – son of Paolo, grandson of Cesare.

Milan squad for Verona: Begovic, A Donnarumma, G Donnarumma; Calabria, Conti, Gabbia, Hernández, Laxalt, Musacchio, Romagnoli; Bonaventura, Brescianini, Calhanoglu, Kessie, Paquetà, Saelemaekers; Castillejo, Leao, Rebic, Maldini

*Piatek: 'Milan Change Striker Each Year'*

New Hertha Berlin signing Krzysztof Piatek insists Milan “change centre-forward every single year, so it’s probably a habit over there.”

The striker lasted just one year in the Rossoneri jersey, as after his move from Genoa, he struggled to score goals and was sold to Hertha Berlin.

He had been dropped to the bench once Zlatan Ibrahimovic arrived in January and told German newspaper Bild this was not uncommon.

“This happens a lot at Milan. They change centre-forward every single year, so it’s probably a habit over there.”

There does seem to be a ‘curse’ of the Number 9 jersey, with a succession of flops who followed the retirement of Pippo Inzaghi in 2012.

The Number 9 shirt holders included Gonzalo Higuain, Andre Silva, Gianluca Lapadula, Luiz Adriano, Fernando Torres, Mattia Destro, Alessandro Matri and Alexandre Pato.

*Galliani: I still have Milan in my heart, i jump and celebrate as before.
*
Adriano Galliani, the former Rossoneri CEO, spoke to MilanNews.it on the occasion of the "United for the Heart" event, a charity event underway at the Principe di Savoia hotel in Milan. Here are his statements: On the objectives: "Monza's goal is to return to Serie A in 18 months. I believe that in life you have to be clear what you want, then you can also not reach it. President Berlusconi and I have clarity on what we want to do: bring Monza to Serie A by July 1st 2021 ". In the case of Monza-Milan? Monza is always in San Siro. “We hope to talk about it from the 2021/22 season. When there is no concurrence with Monza, I never miss an AC Milan match.

In your opinion, after 31 years as CEO of Milan can I not have the Rossoneri colors in my heart? I jump like a cricket and exult as before, I stayed the same. At home with Torino, at the 3-2 goal of Calhanoglu I embraced Massaro as in the old days. Passion does not change. " Ibra? "Ibra is a great player, a great person and I maintain relationships." How i see this new Acmilan? "I am not talking about AC Milan, I am only a fan." On the derby: "I will not be there, I was invited by friends of Inter but I will be in Siena because at 17.30 on Sunday there is Siena-Monza and therefore I will be in Siena".

Saelemaekers to RTBF: "My debut against Verona was a historic moment. I was a bit tense at the beginning. When the coach gave me instructions in Italian I did not quite understand. Honestly I did not even know where I should play (laughs)."

Saelemaekers: "Seeing who came out (Calabria), I knew I would play in the right back and that I have to push forward since Verona were in 10 men. My goal now is to try to become a starter as soon as possible."

Saelemaekers: "Next weekend is the derby against Inter. Lukaku already contacted me to tell me that we were going to see each other. He wants to show me the nice places in the city."

Saelemaekers: "My move to Milan? My agent spoke with management at Anderlecht 2-3 weeks ago, but there was nothing at the time. Then Suso’s departure from Milan started the process."

AC Milan are considering bringing a familiar face from the past to cover in attack in the absence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
On the last day of January transfer window in 2011, former AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani signed Nicola Legrottaglie on a free transfer from Juventus. That was the year when AC Milan also signed Cassano, Van Bommel, Robinho and Ibrahimovic.

Legrottaglie made only one appearance with AC Milan one week after his arrival because a serious head injury suffered against Lazio kept him out for the remaining of the year. Nevertheless, a single appearances was enough for Legrottaglie to win a Scudetto medal at the end of the season. When asked about the bizarre move Galliani explained. “With Nesta absent and Thiago Silva injured I don’t want to risk anything for the sake of Milan“.

This season AC Milan are going through a similar situation in attack. The Rossoneri sold Krzysztof Piatek to Hertha Berlin in Germany but opted against signing a new striker thus leaving Zlatan Ibrahimovic the only available centre forward in Stefano Pioli’s side.

The match against Hellas Verona proved how exposed the Rossoneri are Ibrahimovic is not on the pitch. Rafael Leao and Ante Rebec were unable to cover in the absence of the Swedish striker. Especially in the last 20 minutes of the match when crosses where raining in the opponent’s are. Neither Leao or Rebic were able to exploit their chances clearly lacking the killer instinct in front of the goal.

That’s why AC Milan are reportedly thinking of Alessandro Matri. The Italian centre forward has left Brescia and is now a free agent. Italian clubs are allowed to register free agents until 31 March. In that case that would be the third spell of Alessandro Matri with AC Milan. At this point he seems the only available solution for the attack problem. An experienced player to give a helping hand for a few months.

🎙 Adriano Galliani |
“Milan?
I never miss a match.
Milan is still in my heart. I jump as I did before & the joy remained the same.
In the match against Torino, when Hakan scored the 3rd goal, I hugged Massaro like in the old days ..
The passion never changed."

Sassuolo midfielder Manuel Locatelli has hinted that he would consider a return to AC Milan at some point in the future as he ‘dreams of going back to a big club’.

Locatelli left San Siro to join Sassuolo on a paid loan deal with the Neroverdi having the obligation to purchase the player outright at the end of the season.

He joined Milan from Atalanta’s academy system in 2009 as an 11-year-old boy, and spent nine years at the club prior to leaving in summer 2018. Since moving to the Emilia-Romagna club, he has made 49 appearances amassing three goals and six assists.

Locatelli spoke to MilanNews.it on the sidelines of the ‘Amici dei Bambini’ event on Tuesday night, discussing his past at Milan and what the future holds.

“My dream is to return to a great club, Milan has a particular flavour for me, they have remained in my heart,” he said.

“I don’t know what the future holds for me, I think about the present, but I dream of going back to a big club.”

On the derby: “It’s a special game, we live it during the week, I hope Calabria scores, we are still friends.”

“My past at Milan? I would not want to change anything, everything made me grow and made me reach these levels. Milan was a very important page, then the club made me understand that I had to change and I understood it, I made this decision and I am convinced that it for the best of everyone. I would not change anything.”

The Rossoneri youth product has spoken out about his time at San Siro before in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, and did not rule out a possible future move to Milan’s rivals Juventus.

AC Milan are already considering potential plans for if Zlatan Ibrahimovic leaves at the end of the season, according to a report.

Ibrahimovic secured his return to the Rossoneri early in January and has already had a marked impact on the team, who have not lost a game since his arrival.

However, at 38 years of age the Milan leadership are of course wary of the fact that the Swede does not represent a long-term option, possibly not even an option beyond June.

According to a report from transfer outlet calciomercatonews.com, agent Mino Raiola may have a hand in who replaces his client at the San Siro.

Considering the now excellent relationship between the influential agent and the Milan management, Raiola could held bring a new centre-forward to the Diavolo in PSV sensation Donyell Malen.

Currently out with a knee injury, the 21-year-old has already scored 17 goals in all competitions this season, earning a call-up to the Dutch national side.

Excluding potential commissions – certainly not insignificant when talking about Raiola – Malen could apparently be allowed to leave in the summer for €20-25million, but Arsenal and Liverpool were also linked with moves prior to his injury.

In Milano the derby may be on the horizon, but the countdown for the new stadium has started in a project that will united the two clubs.

In the last few days Milan and Inter have made great progress towards the acceptance of the two projects for the new stadium in Milan by the council, which, before endorsing any decision on this topic, wants to have certainties about the future of the current San Siro.

MILAN, INTER AND THE MUNICIPALITY
The last meeting of the municipal bodies ruled that Milan and Inter’s plans for a ‘new San Siro’ were acceptable and in line with the needs of the Municipality. In this regard, some areas of the old stadium will be saved.

As Repubblica.it reports , the orange grandstand, one of the towers and a Curva will be preserved to help transform the field into a sports citadel. A space that will contribute in part to replenish the coffers of the council, so that the abandonment of the rent of San Siro by the two clubs does not substantially affect them.

Having said that, Milan and Inter will pay rent immediately, as Repubblica.it report, rather than after 32 years as first thought. For the definitive yes, for which a few days would be missing,

THE TWO PROJECTS
The two projects for the new stadium will soon be examined by the competent authorities. One is that of Populous, already famous for the design of the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium; the other is that of Manica, an international design studio that stands out for innovation and creativity.

Through the portal nuovostadiomilano.com all fans can view the two projects with their characteristics. Or you can view the gallery of the Italian firm Manica and American giants Populous on our site

In an interview with derbyderbyderby.it, Dejan Savicevi spoke about some AC Milan players: “On Leao there is nothing to say about him, he has to prove everything on the pitch and only him can do so. He is young, he has quality, but he is the one who has to help himself, his career depends a lot on him and from a mental point of view.

On Rebic? His two goals were decisive episodes. Football is made up of these episodes, sometimes positive as in the case of Rebic, and sometimes negative as in the case of Giampaolo. In the first leg I did not forget what happened between Turin and Milan, the Rossoneri were 1-0 ahead, they deserved to win 2-0 or 3-0, but after a foul on Calhanoglu the counterattack and the Toro's draw.

Sometimes episodes make the seasons turn, in one way or another. " Ultimately, for the derby? "I am a Milan player and fan of Milan, in the derby the ranking does not count, nothing else matters, but for Milan it is hard. It is Inter that has the most pressure, to have to play the game.

Inter are more fighting for a goal than Milan. They are stronger, but not clearly stronger. "

IBRA UPDATE: Yesterday Ibra continued his personalized work, but left the gym to train on the field.

Not yet in the group, but he’s almost there.
@Gazzetta_it reports Zlatan got rid of the flu that had stopped him on the eve of the match against Hellas.

Ibra also had a slight calf fatigue accused last week that he had to get over.

The Milan forward is proceeding cautiously, without forcing it, but his general condition has improved.
There’s good optimism Ibra will be back, he’s indispensable for Pioli’s team.

Tuttosport: Inter vs. Milan probable starting line-ups – No Eriksen; Conti and Kjaer in

Stefano Pioli

With the Derby della Madonnina just three days away, Tuttosport (via MilanLive.it) have attempted to predict the two starting line-ups that Antonio Conte and Stefano Pioli will field.

The Milan XI
Pioli will stick with the 4-4-2, the paper claims, with Gianluigi Donnarumma in the goal and a full-back pairing of Andrea Conti and Theo Hernandez – despite the former having tonsillitis over the weekend. Simon Kjaer is set to start over Mateo Musacchio and partner Alessio Romagnoli at present.

In midfield Ismael Bennacer will return from suspension, with Frank Kessie partnering him and Samuel Castillejo and Hakan Calhanoglu on the wings. Up front, there are no doubts: Zlatan Ibrahimovic will pair up with Rafael Leao again.

AC Milan’s probable XI (4-4-2): Donnarumma; Conti, Kjaer, Romagnoli, Hernandez; Castillejo, Kessie, Bennacer, Calhanoglu; Ibrahimovic, Leao.

The Inter XI
It will be a 3-5-2 for Antonio Conte, and although having sustained a finger injury Samir Handanovic is currently set to start between the posts with a defensive trio composed of Diego Godín, Stefan de Vrij and Milan Skriniar.

In the midfield, Marcelo Brozovic will be the regista with Matias Vecino and Niccolo Barella to his right and left respectively. Christian Eriksen will be on the bench.

Antonio Candreva and Ashley Young will act as wing-backs and support a front to of Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez, given the suspension of Lautaro Martinez.

Inter probable XI (3-5-2): Handanovic; Godín, de Vrij, Skriniar; Candreva, Vecino, Brozovic, Barella, Young; Lukaku, Sanchez.

AC Milan are close to securing a renewal on their sponsorship agreement with Emirates, a report claims, but some interesting news is emerging from France.

According to MilanNews.it, there are ‘rumours’ that the new deal between Milan and Emirates will be worth between 28% and 30% of the one currently in operation.

Meanwhile Lyon, starting from the 2020-21 season, will have an increase in the agreement with Emirates which will see them collect €20million per year plus bonuses.

MilanNews described this as a ‘violent slap’ when thinking about how the Dubai-based airline are treating their partnership with Milan.

If the data of the new contract with the Rossoneri were to be confirmed then questions must be asked about the commercial side of the club, in particular Ivan Gazidis who was brought in to increase commercial revenues.

Gazidis in particular – even as CEO of the club and a figure hired especially by Elliott Management – has even admitted that the club are two major sponsors short from matching Europe’s elite, so reducing the income from the only main sponsor seems counter-intuitive.
