Out of those only NBC is privatised, TTCL, ATCL are back to GoT. Whereas NIC has never been privatized!
Nimekupa mifano tu kurefute statement yako kwamba only LDC ndo serikali inamiliki mashirika na makampuni… naweza kukupa list ya mashirika uliyotaja hapo (reli.. Airports.. Airlines etc ) ambazo zinamilikiwa na serikali katika nchi ambazo ziko well off tu kiuchumi..So you will go picking all the big companies you can think of to prove your point. China operates on its own unique rules.
Fact is 99% of government managed companies in the world end up as failures or lag behind private companies.
Kwa hiyo hao wakenya wa gazeti la standard, na media zote za Kenya pamoja na wasomi wote wanaosema lengo la kuuza kwa sasa ni ili kupata pesa za bajeti hawajui kitu wewe ndio unajua kila kitu?.
Mbona serikali isiwachie private sector kujenga SGR kama unahisi serikali haiwezi kuendesha mashirika kwa faida?. Unadhani mashirika yote yanayobinafsishwa yanatengeneza faida?, mbona KQ inatengeneza hasara, Kirubi anajuta kuwekeza pesa yake KQ, reli yenu ya zamani mbona mlibinafsisha lakini hali ni mbaya zaidi?.
80% ya UMEME wa Kenya huzalishwa na KenGen, ambapo serikali inamiliki 70% ya share, hii maana yake serikali ndiyo yenye maamuzi ya mwisho kuhusu bei ya UMEME kwa wananchi, ni hatari sana serikali kupoteza huo uwezo wa kuamua bei ya UMEME kwa wananchi. Mkiendelea kupunguza huo uwezo wa maamuzi mtapoteza nguvu ya kupanga bei, kumbuka UMEME ni engine ya uchumi wa nchi.
Acha kabisa kusema eti serikali inaweza kupanga na kudhibiti bei vile itakavyo, huo utakua sio uchumi huria, hivi kwanini hushangai bei ya Diesel na Petrol Kenya IPO juu kuliko nchi zote za EAC, moja ya sababu ni kwamba serikali yenu imeachia private sector kufanya kila kitu katika ununuzi, usafirishaji na usambazaji.
Tanzania serikali inasaidiana na private sector katika kutafuta wapi kunapatikana Diesel na Petrol kwa bei nafuu huko nje, then serikali wanasaidia yasafirishwe in bulk, sio kila importer asafirishe kivyakevyake, mwisho yanafika Tanzania yakiwa na bei ndogo.

The fact that they are managed by the government explains why they cannot compete with privately ran or publicly traded companies in the region.

Na ndio maana things run efficiently in those countries.
Isikushangaze kwamba the famous Heathrow Airport is privately owned.

I will unferstand when Chinese drop by and grab whats theirs.SGR is an infrastructure project. Owned by the people of Kenya.
What we can do, and we are doing, is having a private company run the trains.
You should try and understand next time before commenting, what is being privatized.

Parastatals are things of the past, kama vile Nyerere wenu ali nationalize all companies....baadaye mliona vile umaskini ulifuata kwa taratibu 😂😂

2nd, selling is not instant, & it’s not 100% sell-off!. The process is long & has legal procedures and it barely means the gov will sell a portion of the company, example kama vile the gov sold Kenya airways it retained considerable shares.
The motive of selling state corporations is to remove bureaucracy & increase efficiency. Investors wataleta new views, new management and focus on generating revenue. Parastatals are like pests feeding off the government.

Kwa maneno ya stima, hapa Kenya watu wamelia miaka mingi kwamba Kenya Power inahitaji competition. The only way hio inaweza fanyika, ni kama kampuni binafsi itaanzisha kampuni ingine ya kusambaza stima, ama Kenya Power iwe split.
Na hili si jambo geni.
Mfano nchi ya US, kampuni zote kubwa za kuzalisha na kusambaza umeme ziko mikononi ya watu binafsi. Hadi nuclear power zinazalishwa na kampuni binafsi.
Hii ni competition, na bei inashuka.
Tatizo lenu ninyi mbafikiria kupata faida pekee, hamfikirii impact ya uchumi kwa ujumla wake. Alafu there are so many historical examples. Countries that promoted nationalization of companies, mainly Eastern Europe and other communist countries, ended up way less developed than those who let the private sector run the show.
