The photographer did not save her/his life. He was the journalist from South Africa. Unfortunately he took the picture and fled. He then commited suicide after sometime because of guilty concious,he felt so bad on how he couldn't help the kid and in 1994 it became the picture of the year. That kid was walking to a refugee camp 1km from there where they were distributing some food n water. And the vulture behind him was waiting for him to die and eat him! Verry terrible!
