Losing referees Riley and Styles worse than losing Ronaldo, says Ferguson!

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has claimed that recently retired referees Mike Riley and Rob Styles are a bigger loss to his team than departed Cristiano Ronaldo.
United stuttered through an unconvincing 1-0 opening day victory against Premier League new-boys Birmingham City, and Ferguson’s men were clearly missing the threat normally posed by compliant match officials. Despite a win secured by a Wayne Rooney goal, Ferguson was less than pleased with how his team had coped with the new refereeing roster.
“A win is a win, but the nature of the victory was more than a little concerning,” said Ferguson in the post-match press conference.
“People will point to the 20-odd goals you could expect from Cristiano, but nobody ever mentions the sterling work done by Riley and Styles in creating those goals.”
“Those guys were real team players, the unsung heroes of much of our success.”
“They would contribute all over the pitch, not just with favourable penalty decisions in both areas, but with 50/50 challenges all over the pitch,”
“There is also the awarding of free-kicks in shooting range and the numerous goal line clearances.”
“But most of all, I think we’ll miss their uncanny ability to make the game seem longer than it’s meant to be when we really, really needed it.”

Referees
A Premier League official has reacted to Sir Alex’s claims by leaping to the defence of the new referees.
“They’re just learning the ropes, and obviously don’t yet know the Premier League hierarchy that’s currently in place.”
“But we’ve invested heavily in their development and they’ll be up to speed soon enough, it’s just a matter of gaining the right experience.”
“And nothing gives you that experience like being subjected to a 96th minute spittle-infused rant from Sir Alex.”
“After that, I am sure they will be significantly more compliant.”

A few things:

When the announce the time added on its a minimum - not when then game should finish, but the minimum time the game should finish, in this case it was 94 minutes

Then the ref had to add time on for bellamys goal celebration, and as they said on MOTD2 it was 56 seconds from the time the ball crossed the utd goal line and to when kick off was taken.

Then SAF brought on carrick - adding another 30 seconds this equals 1 minute and 26 seconds. 94 + 1.26 = 95.26

Owens goal was at 95.27

yes 1 second over but at 95.26 i can imagine the ball was roughly at owens feet in the penalty area just before he scored, and that isnt somewhere, where you would finish a game is it.

It is not the added minute that separated the teams. It's class,Manchester city as well had the chance to win the game.

Former Premiership ref Graham Poll has revealed what Sir Alex Ferguson expects from match officials when visiting Manchester United's Old Trafford.
Reflecting on Sunday's 4-3 derby thriller, Poll wrote in his column for the Daily Mail: "In my after dinner speech I often tell how I got the ‘hairdryer' from Sir Alex Ferguson on one of my first visits to Old Trafford for not knowing one of the rules of football; at the home of Manchester United you play until they win!
"For as long as I can remember fans have had the suspicion that Ferguson has an influence over referees decisions and appointments - a suspicion I cannot share - and with Mike Riley - one of ‘Fergie's favourites' - having taking over as the head of refereeing for the PGMOL, they will be looking even closer at the referees at the home of the Champions.
"However, Ferguson was not pleased at having Martin Atkinson appointed for Sunday's derby, a man he has still not forgiven for what he believed was a performance that eliminated United from the FA Cup against Portsmouth two seasons ago.
"Maybe after this pulsating game was decided by a late, late winner from Michael Owen, Atkinson will be welcomed back any time."

Sawa sawa,

hata UEFA champions league marefa kutoka EPL ndio hupangwa kuchezesha mechi za man u!!!

yaani man u ni balaa tupu, kuanzia uingereza hadi ulaya!

ha ha ha poleni watani, chezeni mpira jamani, Man U boli linadunda.

Man utd hamtuwezi msimu huu.

Ahsanteni

Unasikiliza pumba za ovyo Graham Poll ambaye alimpa mchezaji kadi za njano 3 tena kwenye World Cup pia aliwahi kumtukana John Terry
