Results of the summer counteroffensive by the AFU, according to Ukrainian "Military Analytics" channel:
"Bakhmut Direction: The encirclement of the city has not been achieved yet. The liberation of Andriivka and Kleschivka in the south opens up possibilities for a further advance towards the highway to Horlivka. In the north, a "strategic mistake" was made - the assault on Berkhovka in the low-lying terrain proved costly, and the initiative shifted to the Russian Federation. Attempts to break through the Russian defenses at Zaliznyansk and Razdolivka were unsuccessful.
Vremyevsky Salient: The salient was cut off, but advancing further proved difficult. Significant losses of equipment were incurred in the first month. "There were videos online showing our brigade columns being hit, which were supposed to break through the defense in the style of Guderian-Goth." The situation was negatively affected by the tragedy of the 37th Independent Motorized Brigade near Novodonetsk in early June. Due to errors, all offensive actions here were "extremely difficult" from June 5 to 7. Other brigades had to bear losses because the Russian armored fist from Kermenchyk (where the Russian army turned heights into a fortified area) disrupted all plans in this direction.
Zaporizhia-Taurian Direction: The operation to liberate Rabotyno stretched over three months because Russia had fortified positions here in advance. Footage of destroyed Western equipment created "fear" among the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Only in mid-August did the Russians begin to retreat and introduce reserves. Often, after deep breakthroughs, the Ukrainian Armed Forces had to withdraw due to a lack of success on the flanks.
Strategic success was not achieved, but there are still prospects in the Rabotyno area. However, time is running out. New defense lines are already being constructed by the Russian Armed Forces.
In 2024, surprises should be expected. As we previously wrote, it is likely that there will be a Russian offensive."
