Nianze kwa kuweka sawa msemo ''hana doa''. Hapa nilimaanisha kuwa angeandika mtu mwingine zaidi ya Mwislam basi ingeshakuwa doa ya kuwa anapindisha historia kuwadhulumu waislam. Yeye ni Mwislam kama wengine na wala sikuongelea uumini wake kwasababu nia ya mja anaijua mwenyezi mungu peke yake.

Mohamed, Mzee Nasor Moyo katika mada zake nyingi amekuwa kifanyia reference ''mimi ni mwanapinduzi'' na pale bwawani mwezi oktoba 2012 aliuliza nani anayajua mapinduzi zaidi yake.

Karume alikuwa na kauli za mapinduzi kama ilivyokuwa kwa jumbe, Mwinyi, Salim, Abdul Wakili, Thabiti Kombo Jecha, Aman Karume, Abdallah Natepe n.k.

When the former Tanzanian President Julius Kambarage Nyerere made the above address to his National Assembly that "the union between Zanzibar and Tanganyika is the most misunderstood aspects of Tanzanian's political development" proved that he is the only Tanzanian who knows "the manner and the implications of the union" after British colonialism in East Africa.

During the British colonialism, Zanzibar was the only intellectual center for Islamization of East African countries under the Zanzibar Sultanate. The Gofu and the Barza Mosques allowed students from the East African countries for the Islamic education. The Zanzibar Muslim Academy also offered the greatest hope for the vibrancy of Islam in East Africa.

Nyerere, a devout Catholic saw that the Islamic Zanzibar state, a threat to Christianity. He masterminded a clandestine movement for the so called Zanzibar Revolution under the leadership of John Okello, a radical Christian from Uganda. It was not only a prelude to the creation of Tanzania, but a continuation of crusade against Islam and extension of Christian colonialism.


When Zanzibar gained independence on December 10, 1963 from the British government, it became a member of the Commonwealth nations. It joined the United Nations on December 16, 1963 and was represented by Hilal bin Muhammed bin Hilal. But when the new Zanzibar Government declared to form the model of the Islamic State, it was orchestrated by Afro-Christian Crusaders as reincarnation of Arabisation and revivalism of Islamization.

They invaded Zanzibar in the midnight of January 11, 1964 under the self-appointed "Field Mashal" John Okello, a militant Christian from Uganda. The objective of the Zanzibar revolution was a Crusade against Islam as Okello stated in his book entitled Revolution in Zanzibar that God appointed him to make revolution for the sake of Christianity. He then quoted the following Biblical passage for his justifications:

Upande huu mwingine ulitakiwa usijulikane kabisa.

Nitakuwekea hapa kwa mukhtasari.

Kuna ''connection'' ya Wayahudi, silaha kutoka Algeria ambazo zilipokelewa Tanganyika, kuna jeshi la mamluki wa Kimakonde kutoka Kipumbwi katika mapinduzi ya Zanzibar.

Nitakufahamisha kitu kimoja.
Hadi kufika asubuhi serikali ya Jamshid ilikuwa ishaangushwa.

Makomredi waliingia siku ya pili asubuhi si wao waliopiga pigo la kwanza.
Waliingia asubuhi kucheza ngoma uwanjani mwali keshatolewa ndani na keshapekekwa kwa mumewe.

Hii ndiyo sababu hadi leo hakuna comrade hata mmoja aliyethubutu kunyanyua kalamu
kuandika kuhusu historia ya mapinduzi ya Zanzibar.

Kwa kumaliza ningependa kusema kuwa naamini hiyo kauli yako ya ''data'' hukukusudia kunitisha na data
bali ni kunogesha maandishi yako.

La ikiwa kusudio ni kuniwekea vitisho vya data ahlan wasaalan.
Mimi naogopa kitu kimoja tu.

One day Nabwa told me how Abdulaziz Twala met his death. I was stunned. I told Nabwa that Twala and Jaha Ubwa were friends of my father. In our sitting room on the wall there was a photograph of my father and Twala posing together. When my father got information that his friend Twala had been killed he removed the photo from the wall and I never saw that photo again.

And from that day for whatever reason if he had to mention Twala or Jaha Ubwa even among his friends my father whispered. I was very young at that time to understand the fear which the atrocities in Zanzibar had instilled into many people including my father to the extent that he thought unwise even to retain whatever memories he had of his late friends and be scared stiff to even mention Twala's name or that of Jaha Ubwa in public.

The day Nabwa related to me the story of Kassim Hanga and the barbaric way he was killed, he brought back memories of the man as I knew him in 1960s. I told Nabwa that as a young boy of about 12 years of age I knew Hanga from a distance because he used to come to the neighbourhood were we lived to play ‘bao.' At that time Hanga was minister in the Union Government. I can't even count the times I saw Hanga at Gogo junction with Mchikichi Street sitting on a mat playing the traditional game of ‘bao' with very common people.

I told Nabwa I was there among the crowd at Mnazi Mmoja Grounds in front of Arnautoglo Hall when Hanga was taken from Ukonga Prison and brought to a public rally in which Nyerere jeered, ridiculed and humbled him publicly. Hanga head bowed and his bespectacled face full of beard sat there in the scorching sun silently wallowing in his humiliation. That was the last time Hanga was seen in public.
