HISTORIA FUPI YA SHIRIKA LA NDEGE TANZANIA (AIR TANZANIA CORPORATION (ATC))..
Shirika la ndege Tanzania lilianzishwa mwaka 1977 Tarehe 11 mwezi wa Tatu, ikiwa ni baada ya kuvunjika kwa shirika la ndege la Afrika Mashariki (East Africa Airways ).Ambalo ndio shirika la ndege lililo tumika hapo kabla kuhudumia jumuiya ya Afrika Mashariki. Mwaka 1994 shirika la ndege Tanzania ATC liliungana na shirika la ndege la Uganda (Uganda airlines) na Shirika la ndege la South Afrika ( South African Airways) na kutengeneza shirika la ndege lililo julikana kwa jina la Alliance Air .Katika muunganiko huu wa kibiashara Air Tanzania ilikua ikimiliki asilimia kumi (10%) ya hisa zote.Shirika la Air TANZANIA Corporation (ATC) lili hudumu kwa muda wa miaka 25 (1977-2002) kabla ya kuundwa kwa shirika la Air Tanzania Corporation Limited(ATCL) .Ambalo ndilo lina hudumu mpaka sasa.Muungano huu wa kibiashara ulikufa mwaka 2000 mwezi wa kumi baada ya shirika kupata hasara ya kiasi cha dola za kimarekani million hamsini ( USD 50 MILLION).
Mwaka 2002 mwezi January serikali kupitia chombo kilichokua kikisimamia mashirika ya umma ,ambacho kilikua chini ya ofisi ya raisi ( parastatal sector reform commission ) kilipitisha azimio la kulibinafsisha shirika la ndege Tanzania (ATC).Mpaka kufikia 19.09.2002 ambayo ndio ilikua siku ya mwisho ya kupokea zabuni za makampuni yaliyo kua Tayari kulinunua shirika la ndege Tanzania (ATC) ,ni shirika la ndege la South African Airways (SAA) ndilo lililo kua limewasilisha maombi yake.Na hivyo South African Airways (SAA) ndio walio pata ama kushinda zabuni ya kulinunua shirika la ndege Tanzania (ATC).Baada ya kuuzwa kwa thamani ya dolla za kimarekani million 20,ambazo ilikua n I thamani ya hisa zenye asilimia 49 (49%).dolla million 10 ilikua ni thamani ya hisa za serikali na dolla million 10 zingine ilikua mtaji na mafunzo kwa wafanyakazi wa ATC.Mkataba rasmi wa kibiashara ulisainiwa mwezi December 2002. Na baada ya mkataba huu ndipo shirika lilitoka kua Air Tanzania corporation na kua Air Tanzania Corporation Limited (ATCL).
Shirika la ndege TANZANIA lilijikuta likipata hasara ya dolla million 7.3 mwaka mmoja tu baaada ya kubinafsisha hisa zake za asilimia 49.Na hii ilitokana na shirika kushindwa kutanua safari zake za nje kama ilivyokua imekusudiwa.Na kushindwa huku kulisababishwa na Air Tanzania kua na ndege mmoja pekee aina ya Boeing 737-200s katika safari zake.na pia kuifanya Dar Es slaam kua kitovu cha safari za ndege kwa shirika SAA alliance lilifeli kutoka na mipango iliyo kosa utekelezaji.Mwaka 2006 mwezi wa Tatu tarehe 31,serkali ya Tanzania ilitangaza kuliuza shirika la ndege la Tanzania (ATCL) Kutokana na hasara ya TZS 24.7 kwa miaka minne mfurulizo.Aliye kua mkuu wa mamlaka ya anga Tanzania Bi.Margaret Munyangi, Mualisema kua shirika lilikua katika hali mbaya kiuchumi kuliko miaka yote toka kuanzishwa kwake.Mwaka 2006 serikali iliamua kuzirejesha hisa zake zilizo kua zikimilikiwa na shirika la ndege la South African Airways ,kwa kiasi cha shiringi million moja dolla za kimarekani (1 million USD).
Baada ya muungano wa kibiashara kati ya ATCL na SAA kua umekufa ,serikali ya Tanzania ilitenga kiasi cha TZS billion 13,kwaajiri ya kulifufua upya shirika hili la ndege.Na katika harakati hizi serkali ilianzisha namba mpya za risiti (197) badala ya zile za mwanzo zilizo kuz zikitumiwa na shirika la ndege la SAA (083).Mwaka 2007 serikali ya Tanzania ilianza mazungumzo na kampuni moja ya china iliyo fahamika kama China Sonangol International Limited. Mazungumzo ambayo haya kuzaa matunda kwa muda wa miaka mitatu ya mazungumzo.
Mwaka 2007 mwezi wa Saba Tarehe Moja Shirika landege la Tanzania (ATCL),ilianza kutumia tiketi zake mpya.na mwezi wa saba katikati shirika la ndege lilianza kutumia tiketi zake za kiumeme ( Electronic tickets).Air Tanzania ilianza upya rasmi mnamo mwaka 2007 mwezi wa Tisa baada ya kuvunjika kwa ummoja wa kibiashara na SAA.Ambapo shirika lilikodi ndege mbili aina ya Boeing 737-200s na Nembo mpya ya shirika la ndege la Air Tanzania ndipo ilipoanza kutumika.Na pia logo mpya yeneye picha ya Twiga ilitumiwa ,ikiondoa ile bendera ya South Africa Iliyotumiwa kutokana na ushirikiano wa kibiashara ulio kuwepo wakati huo.Tanzania iliingia makubaliano ya kibiashara na shirika la AEROVISTA liliikodishia Tanzaniandege aina ya AIRBUS (B737-500) ili kulisaidia shirika la ndege Tanzania kuendelea kutoa huduma kwa wateja wake, hii ilikua ni mwaka 2012 mwezi wa Tatu tarehe 29.Mwezi wa nane mwaka 2012 Shirika la ndege liliachana na ushirika wa kibiashara na AEROVISTA na kurudisha ndege na kuanza kuitumia hapa nyumbani.Ndege pekee iliyo kua imebaki katika shirika la nbege la Tanzania ni Bombardier Q300 iliyo kua ipo katika matengenezo.
Air Tanzania ilirudi katika ufanyaji kazi 12 mwezi wa kumi 2012 ,na ndege aina ya Boeing 737-200.Shirika la ndege Tanzania lilianza tena safari yake ya Kigoma mnaomo mwaka 2013 mwezi wa kumi ,kwa kutumia ndege aina ya Bombardier Q300.Mwaka 2016 mwezi wa Tano,Shirika la ndege la Tanzania lililokua likifanya kazi kwa kutumia ndege mmoja aina ya CRJ 200 amabayo ilikua ni ndege ya kukodi. Iliyo kua na uwezo wa kubeba abiria 50. Lilianza kutafuta fedha ili kufufua upya shirika lake la ndege.Mpaka sasa shirika la ndege la Tanzania limenunua ndege tatu aina ya Bombardier Q400 ambapo moja imenunua ndege kubwa aina ya BOEING GREAMLINER 787-8 na Imeagiza ndege mbili aina ya Airbus zinazotarajiwa kuwasili nchini mwezi wa 11 mwaka huu na mwaka 2019 itawasili ndege ngingine kubwa aina ya BOEING BREAMLINER 787-8.Mpaka sasa shirika la ndege Tanzania lina ndege nne.
Mwaka 2010 tarehe moja mwezi wa Tatu ndege ya Air Tanzania aina ya Boeing 737-200(5H-MVZ),ilipata ajari katika kiwanja cha mwanza ilipo kua ikijaribu kutua kutokana na uwanja huo kua umejaa maji.sehemu ya mbele na upande wa injini ya kuria ziliharibika vibaya sana .Baada ya kupigwa gharama za kuitengeneza ilionekana kua ni kubwa sana ,hivyo ndhe hiyo ilihifadhiwa katika karakana ya ndege mwanza ilipo mpaka sasa.Tarehe Nane mwezi wan ne 2012,ndge nyingine (DHC-8-311Q) ya Tanzania ilipata ajari katika kiwanaja cha ndege cha kigoma wakati ikijiaandaa kuruka.Katika ajari zote hizi mbili hakuna ripoti ya vifo iliyolipotiwa.

Air Tanzania Corporation (1977–2002)
The Air Tanzania Corporation (ATC) was established on 11 March 1977 after the break-up of East African Airways (EAA), which had previously served the region. The liquidation of EAA followed its accumulation of US$120 million of debt.[5]
According to Andy Chande, the founding chairman of the board, Tanzania and Uganda did not receive a fair share of the former carrier's assets despite being equal partners. The airline commenced operations with a Douglas DC-9-32 leased from Kenya Airways and purchased an additional two Boeing 737, financed by a U.S. bank.[6] It also leased aircraft from Air Madagascar. Four Fokker F27s and four DHC-6-300 Twin Otters were added in 1980. Because of less demand, two of the Fokker 27s were made obsolete in the year 1981. These aircraft returned to service in the year 1983, but were once again removed.[7]
In May 1991, Air Tanzania began operating a Boeing 767-200ER that was leased from Ethiopian Airlines, but this aircraft proved to be too large and was returned to the lessor in February 1992.[8][9] The airline reported a profit of US$650,000 in 1994.[10]

During the 1990s, the airline's acronym ATC was humorously referred to as "Any Time Cancellation" due to its unpredictable flight schedule.[11][12]
Alliance Air

In 1994, Air Tanzania joined with Uganda Airlines and South African Airways (SAA) to form Alliance Air. Air Tanzania had a 10 percent stake in the venture.[13] Flights operated from Dar es Salaam to London–Heathrow via Entebbe on a Boeing 747SPinitially, and then a smaller Boeing 767-200. This venture ceased operations in October 2000 after accumulating losses of about US$50 million. [14] The losses had been funded by Transnet, the parent company of SAA, through April 2000. When Transnet refused to continue funding the deficit, Air Tanzania accused SAA of using Alliance Air "as a Trojan Horse to take over national airlines in the region".[15] In February 2002, the government began the process of privatising ATC through the PresidentialParastatal Sector Reform Commission.[16] Advertisements were placed in the local, regional, and international media inviting potential bidders.[16] The International Finance Corporation advised the government in this transaction.[17][18] The government had approved a transaction structure that included:[19]
Eight airlines submitted Expressions of Interest:[19]
- Creation of a new company, "Air Tanzania Company Limited", which would be incorporated as a limited liability company under the Companies Act to take over the operating assets and specified rights and liabilities of ATC.
- A second new company, "Air Tanzania Holding Company", which would be created to take over the non-operating assets and all other liabilities of ATC.
Of the eight, four airlines carried out due diligence – South African Airways, Kenya Airways, Comair, and Nationwide Airlines.[18] By 19 September 2002, the bid deadline date, only SAA had submitted a bid. Kenya Airways and Nationwide Airlines had informed the government that they did not intend to submit bids.[18][20]

Hiyo kimya kimya ya Nyerere ndiyo aliitumia kuchota pesa zetu na kuzipeleka kwenye harakati za ukombozi Kusini mwa Afrika kwa ajili ya legacy yake tu.
