In response to the sanction handed down by the Competition Committee to the Real Madrid Castilla's head coach and second coach, Santiago Sánchez and Zinedine Zidane respectively, Real Madrid C. F. would like to outline the following:

1. The club's absolute disagreement with the decision, not least of all because Zinedine Zidane has been authorised by the French Football Federation to work as a head coach in the category Real Madrid Castilla currently find themselves in, as the certificate issued by said Federation from 13 October 2014 states.

2. Real Madrid will pursue every available legal avenue so that this decision is overturned.

Ancelotti worked with all the available players as well as Castilla keeper Alfonso Herrero.

Real Madrid finalised their plans ahead of the La Liga matchday ten clash against Granada (Saturday, 4pm CET). The Whites completed the second of two sessions in preparation for the trip to the Nuevo Los Cármenes. Ancelotti worked with the whole squad, except for Bale, Coentrão and Jesé, during a session that also included the presence of Castilla goalkeeper Alfonso Herrero.

The players got things started by dividing themselves into two groups. On one side, the four goalkeepers worked on specific exercises. Meanwhile, the outfield players began with an intense warm up before working on two possession drills designed to practise moving the ball around.

Ancelotti: "I expect an intense and difficult match against Granada"

"Our attitude in recovering possession when we don't have the ball is great", said the Italian.

Carlo Ancelotti spoke about Saturday's upcoming clash with Granada, a game in which Real Madrid will be looking to continue their great run of form: "Granada have changed from last year, and also have a new manager. It will be a tough game with a lot of intensity. Caparrós teams fight hard and are well organised so we'll need to be careful".

"The key is playing with the same attitude, knowing that it will be a complicated game and that we will have to battle and be the better side in order to win. The starting eleven has not been finalised. Pepe and Modric have problems that need to be evaluated so I will wait until the training session before making my decision. Bale, Coentrão and Jesé are all still injured. The starting eleven will not be influenced by the Liverpool game".

Good run of form
"We are happy with what we are doing, each match is a test and we're not dwelling on the games that have already been played. We are enjoying a good run and are focused on the next game. We want to continue doing the same, each game is a test and you never know what will happen. The players' attitude has changed when they don't have the ball. We recover possession well and press very high up the pitch. As such, it is easier to attack. We have a good attitude".

Centre of the park
"Khedira and Illarra are important players, who will be used this season. They played the other day and did well. Kroos and Modric can't play the whole season. Illarra is not Modric and Khedira is not Kroos, but I have complete faith in them".

Bale and Isco, compatible
"Neither is angry about not playing. Whoever deserves to play will play. Isco is playing really well. He is in a rich vein of form and I hope it can last until the end of the season. Bale and Isco have played together plenty of times and have done well. They can work together".

"We are fighting in order to win La Liga. As always I have said that the Champions League is the most important competition in the world. It is possible for us to be league leaders by Christmas. Anything is possible. We have to continue like we are and prepare well for each game".

Praise for Marcelo
"Marcelo is able to play consistently and at a high level like he is showing at the moment. He hasn't always done so but now he is playing fantastically. He is helping the team. He is training really well and is very focused on his defensive duties".

LFP Awards
"I was not surprised with the awards the Real Madrid players won. It wasn't surprising at all that those who were nominated won awards".

Zidane's sanction
"I've spoken with Zidane and he is not happy. We are optimistic and hope that the judge repeals the sanction".

Caparrós ripping up the front page
"I've had the urge to rip it up myself sometimes. Caparrós did it in style. I can understand his reaction, it can happen, although I've never torn up a newspaper".

The Whites get Saturday's action underway looking to get an eleventh win on the bounce.

Now past the quarter mark in the La Liga season, and after giving Barcelona a footballing masterclass in the Santiago Bernabéu, Real Madrid now prepare their first assault on the championship top spot in Granada. Trailing the Catalans and Sevilla by just one point, the Whites will be looking to record an eleventh straight win to put pressure on both teams in the race for first place in the league table.

It will be Madrid's third game in the last seven days and the aim is to put the cherry on top of a great week in which they have beaten Barcelona and basically assured their passage to the Copa del Rey Round of 16 against Cornellá.

They have already scored 50 goals
In both games the Whites displayed their overwhelming firepower up front. In fact, they have already reached half a century of goals in just 16 games (over three per fixture).

For today's match, which will get the Saturday matchday action underway, Ancelotti has announced a squad of 19 players. Among the list of names are Casillas, Pepe, Kroos, Modric and Cristiano Ronaldo, who were all given a rest on Wednesday.

Granada's promising start to the season, which saw them rack up eight points from their first four games, was cut short by a poor run of form during which they failed to pick up a single point from their next four encounters. They put an end to that poor run during the last matchday in Eibar (1-1) and, following that draw, they take on the Whites this afternoon.

Larsson, Babín, Jhon Córdoba, Javi Márquez, Sissoko and former Real Madrid man Juan Carlos are some of the reinforcements to have joined Granada, a team that is also under the stewardship of a new manager this season: Joaquín Caparrós. Sitting fourteenth in the table before the current matchday kicked off, they have scored six goals, all coming from different players.
