CCM says it has no constitutional agenda currently.
June 14, 2021. TANGA.
CCM has said it does not have a new constitutional agenda at the moment but instead focuses on rebuilding the country through the completion of major strategic projects, fighting poverty, improving social services, improving the business environment, enhancing democracy, administering good governance, protecting parallel and respecting human rights, so it cannot abandon those fundamental issues that carry the future of the Nation and begin to look backward in development for the personal interests of one person or a minority group.
.
The statement was made by the Secretary of the CCM National Executive Committee Ideology and Publicity Shaka Hamdu Shaka while talking to various elders of Tanga district in the city hall of the Tanga City Council.
"No citizen is saying that the government should let all that be done first and the new constitution does not exist. Demands for a new constitution are not a political agenda so politicians should stop using that agenda as a trump card to deceive the people that that is the answer to their challenges which is not true" said Shaka.
Shaka noted that the Government of President Samia is pursuing more fundamental priorities in the cross-cutting areas of access to quality health care, the provision of free and quality education in schools and colleges, clean and safe water services being strengthened in areas without such services, enhanced through a system of justice delivery, low interest and concessional lending, improved agriculture and ensuring access to crop markets in parallel with creating a friendly and enabling environment for traders and investors.
.
In addition, Shaka stressed that the Nation needs honest, patriotic leaders, who value our nation, who put the interests of the Nation first for the benefit of the people and not the dynamic politicians of propaganda seeking political support without building strong foundations.
