I dont agree it will lead to chaos. I will tell you why, the law that forbid abortion in Tanzania is silent law, though it exists people still abortion everyday without fear of it.

Doctors do not turn away woman from hospital, they just conduct the procedures like they are legal.

That says nothing of whether it should be legal or not....it says of unethical doctors aka murderers!

Come to think of it, I think women who go to street doctors or resolt to home remedies do so not in fear of the law but rather in fear of their families or because they are students who do not have money to go to the hosspital to do it properly. How many grown up women have you heard died as a result of abortion?

There is no way of doing abortion properly just as there is no way to murder "properly". Whatever way, it is improper, immoral and illegitimate and so it should be illegal as it is now!

When I was in secondary school, the girl used to sit next to me died after performing illegal abortion. It was very sad because it happened a week before we started our final exams.

Women who perform illegal and legal abortions do that for many reasons. Some don't want to be expelled from school or job.

These are stupid women to speak. Here is why: They know that pregnancy would bring them all these troubles AND they know how to get pregnant AND they go and get pregnant AND they don't want to be responsible to their actions and want an innocent person to bear the weight of their action!

Some don't want to take parental responsibilities while they are still students or young. Others do that because they don't want to disappoint their parents or spouses.

If they don't want to be parents they should not do what parents are supposed to do. We are heading for careless and irresponsible generation that wants to do things but throw the consequences to another person (abortion is just one case)

The array of reasons why women choose to perform abortions is endless, and the more we keep this process undefined, the more we likely endanger the life of young women. Do you think it's time to make abortion legal?

First there is no single reason to do abortion, none! All these endless reasons are simply excuses to avoid responsibilities. Right always comes with responsibility. You cannot claim a right to share your body and throw the responsibility/consequences to unborn baby. No! No way!

There is no single reason to do abortion, so I would suggest it be under same legal category as intentional murder, if it is not yet in that category. Abortion is killing of innocent baby purposely!

To be honest, in Tanzania I haven't heard a single case in which a woman was sentenced to jail for performing abortions. However, there is a good number of students who have been expelled from schools for doing that.

Stupid system then, if people break the law and aren't prosecuted.
I wish I was DPP, Police and Jury at the same time. I would defend them babies!

I stated before if we choose either the two options of legalizing abortion or not we should measure the risk in our setting as per practice but certainly human being is capable of doing anything to accomplish wishes.

Let the mother who want to kill a baby die and taste the very thing she wanted to do to a baby.
But helping a murderer to kill is even disgusting and the law is not to help a criminal do crime!

CTO unlike what you said that "there is no single reason to abort" kuna exceptions brother! I dunno exactly what the law states with this but Abortion is acceptable when medical issues justify it!! I saw this video of an actual abortion, the baby is chopped in pieces and pulled out, its pretty horrific and i wouldn't be happy for the law to say yes to this but when serious health problems prevail its gotta be done!

even a soldier has to be taken away from the battle field once every now and then for medical care( well with exception for this guy William D. Hawkins - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) anyhow mama akiwa maybe na Cancer in vital areas like the womb or something like that it cant be risked, she'll probably die risking both her and the fetus's life if not treated ila again treating it with Chemo and by Radiation it would lead to a defected child or miscarriage so in such cases abortion will save a life...

Let me correct this debatable topic. We don't have to talk about illegality and it's illegal, instead we have to talk the solution for unwanted pregnant.

We already know that abortion is for school protection from expelled and keeping the parent under obligation to take care of the new born baby.

My thought is to legalize the early marriage for both men and women below the age of 14 and our Law of Marriage Act should be amended so as to make it in effect.

I assure you that, you will never hear any one with crying of abortion.
