EU’s Position on Ukraine Unchanged Despite Putin’s Nuclear Threats – BBC Cites EU Representative Peter Stano
The European Union’s stance on Ukraine will not change in response to Putin’s nuclear threats, according to Peter Stano, a spokesperson for the EU’s foreign policy service.
When asked how the EU would respond to Russia’s recent lowering of the threshold for using nuclear weapons against non-nuclear states, Stano stated:
“This is just a continuation of Putin’s highly irresponsible and unacceptable behavior, which reveals his true nature to the world, especially during the high-level week at the UN General Assembly. We categorically reject these threats. The European Union’s position on Ukraine remains unchanged.”
