I deserve a ban?!!!!!!! why and how?! ..ooh you can do better than this Bantgbro! too emotional...i am only using the language you people can understand..you hail all sort of abuses on Kenya and Kenyans here...do we complain!!?? my analysis are always fair ...you people should style up if you want to get objective analysis here-if u really know what that means- its you to watch your language and attitude towards us ..or else you should not complain when you are given a taste of your own medicine, read carefully the main post i answered and tell me if kajembe was objective! am not complaining.... but i feel you.
The the article above is just an opinion...and we cant depend on it because we had to act.. the cost of inaction outweighs that of action..to protect the integrity and the economy of our beloved great country.....and for your info...this exercise in Somalia is also meant to serve a message to whoever thinks that he can joke with our borders and sovereignty ,when we keep quite does not mean that we are cowards but wise and persevering.... we can handle any situation and challenge that comes our way.....Somalia is just a tip of the ice berg, our Army may be small in number...but we are mighty.Military strength ,might and experience comes as a result of proper training and equipment..eg Israel..they are small i number but they are military giants i the middle east.We know ourselves better.
Talking of Kenya's army that is a war virgin(please don't give me the peace keeping crap!).It took you six years inclusive to end up mashifta rebellion, mind you this was just a rebellion and you struggled for six years. In fact the PEV crudely exposed the unproffessionalism in your 'better funded' police force. It is more than two weeks now and yet you are stil far from Mogadishu,Ethiopian army took barely a week to reach Mogadishu...you don't what war is,while your soldiers were hiding in the barracks, ours were busy liberating Africa.
Mazee usinielewe vibaya, there is always another way of replying even if someone really annoys you ( especially for established members like you). My point is lets avoid taking this discussion to a personal level and start hurling insults at each other. Because if we continue going like this we will be setting a bad precedent for future posters.[/QU
I do agree with you.
Mkuu Pezzonavante, there is no such a Soviet/Russian jet fighter goes by the name/designation of Sukhoi-20 mk2, the jet fighters you are referring to (6 units bought by UPDF) are known as SU-30MK2 (NATO call them Flankers). Also there is no such American jet fighter goes bythe name/designation of US 35-F-15, perhaps you were referring to either the F-35 JSF or the F-15 fighters...
Uganda, based on current threat matrix analysis poses a significant military threat based on two pronged factors. Its recent military upgrades including the acquisition of six sukhoi-20 mk2 fighter aircraft that are rated as top of the range fighters and the discovery of oil in the country is disturbing. I According to a series of defense, meetings between Kenyan air force officials, and agreed to seek which among US 35- F-15 fighter aircrafts should be delivered to cushion Kenyan against the increasing threat from her neighbors.

A PAF F-7PG was photographed with a load of fuel tanks and an AIM-9L AAM. Based on the F-7MG electronic technology demonstrator, it features various upgrades to meet PAF's requirements, including a one-piece windshield, Italian Grifo-7PG PD radar (search 55km, track 37km, single target track), new color CRT displays (EFIS), HUD, HOTAS control, new air data computer, TACAN, PL-9C IR-guided AAM, WP-13F(B) turbojet (13,200lb w/ afterburning) plus two 30mm cannons (compared to one on J-7E/G). Its maximum climb rate is 38,300ft/min (195m/s), combat radius is 850km (hi-hi-hi air-superiority role) and maximum load is 1,800kg. The new double-delta wing suggests the same design on J-7E has proven successful. However, since its basic design of Mig-21F has been more than 40 years old, this approach did not fundamentally change the overall performance. Pakistan ordered 57 F-7PGs in early 2000. These F-7PGs have replaced J-6/Mig-19 and will counter India's Mig-21bis/Bison fleet. 48 were delivered to Pakistan by the end of 2002. However, F-7PG might be fitted with the indigenous SY-80 radar (search 30km, track 26km) replacing the Grifo-7PG radar. Besides Pakistani AF, Namibian AF ordered 12 F-7NMs in August 2005. All were delivered in 2006. These are equipped with Italian Grifo-7MG radar. Bangladesh AF also ordered 12 F-7BGs in 2005. All were delivered 2006. In addition, Nigerian AF ordered 12 F-7NIs in a $251m deal and the first batch was expected to have been delivered in spring 2009. Sri Lanka AF also received around 6 F-7GS in late 2007/early 2008. The latest images (March 2011) indicated that Tanzania acquired an unknown number of F-7TGs.

Venezuela reduces number of Chinese K-8 fighter jets to 18
No reason is given for the reduction from 24

K-8 Fighter jet.
By Latin American Herald Tribune Staff
Venezuela has announced that it will purchase only 18 Chinese- made K-8 fighter jets, not 24 as previously announced, according to General Luis Berroterán Acosta, the commander of Venezuela's Bolivarian Air Force.
"The contract has been signed and the jet trainers are on the production line in China. In a short time, I will be able to disclose the exact arrival date of the first K-8 shipment," said Berroterán at a press conference celebrating the 88th anniversary of military aviation.
Each K-8 fighter jet is capable of carrying 4 bombs and rockets, as well as firing a 23mm machine gun.
They carry two pilots in tandem seating and have a maximum speed of just under 500 miles per hour.
The K-8 was developed in the 1980s in a joint project between China and Pakistan. It's maiden flight took place in 1990.
Because of their relative inexpensive cost, they are used by the air forces of China (200), Egypt (80), Ghana (4), Myanmar (12), Namibia (4), Pakistan (100), Sri Lanka (6), Sudan (12), Tanzania (6), Zambia (8), and Zimbabwe (12).

Russia faces tough Chinese competition in the African arms market: report
..."Finally, MiG Corporation was unable to expand into the African market beyond the initial advances it made in the late 1990s. As mentioned above, MiG was able to sell from excess stock a relatively large batch of MiG-29 to Sudan and Eritrea for low prices. By early 2000 it was negotiating the sale of MiG-29 to Chad (four units), Uganda (six) and Tanzania (six fighters)...

The JWTZ orbat here is seriously outdated...most of the planes listed are not airworthy at all! Here's a manifest;
View attachment 40644
as you can see, most of these aircraft listed here were written off or withdrawn from use in the late 90's. JWTZ has been left with very limited air capabilities. What I don't understand is the fact that JWTZ acquired their buffaloes at around the same time as KAF...the KAF airframes are still in service but the JWTZ ones have all been written off over 10 years ago. I suspect it's a lack of proper maintainance.
I've got even more damning evidence in case anyone wants to dispute this...
If you read the post in question carefully you will find that most of the TPDF's new birds mentioned elsewhere are missing in that list, just like the 6 UPDF's SU-30MK2...😛oa

Naamini makamanda wetu wanapita huku kama moja ya vyanzo vya habari kupata mtizamo wa jamii makini wanavyoliona jeshi lao.[h=2]Air Force[/h]The current Commander of Air Force Command: is Maj Gen Ulomi.
A few of the Tanzanian air wing's transport remain serviceable. However, its Shenyang F-5s, and Chengdu F-7s are reported to fly rarely because of airworthiness problems[SUP][3][/SUP]. Tanzania's long coastline means that transports are also used for patrol flights.
In Tanzania, early 1980s; Contrary to what is usually reported, Tanzania never purchased any J-7Is from China. Instead, the Jeshi La Wananchi La Tanzania (Tanzanian People's Defence Force Air Wing, TPDF/AW) was given 14 MiG-21MFs and two MiG-21Us by the USSR in 1974. Many of these were lost in different accidents due to the poor training, and two were said to have been lost when their pilots defected. Nevertheless, the few surviving examples took part in the war against Uganda, in 1978-1979, when they saw much action, even if one was shot down in a case of fratricide fire (it was lost to SA-7s fired by Tanzanian troops). The Tanzanian Army captured seven MiG-21MFs and one MiG-21U trainer from the Ugandan Air Force, as well as a considerable amount of spare parts. All of these were flown out to Mwanza AB, to enter service with the TPDF/AW. In 1998, Tanzania purchased four additional MiG-21MFs from the Ukraine, but these were reportedly in a very poor shape, and not used very often. Meanwhile, in 1980, an order for 10 F-7Bs and two TF-7s was issued to China, and in 1997 also two F-7Ns were purchased from Iran, together with four ex-Iraqi Air Force transports of an unknown type. Today, no Russian-supplied MiG-21s remain in service with the TPDF/AW, and only three or four F-7s remain operational. The TPDF/AW MiG-21MFs are now confirmed to have carried serials - in black or green - underneath the cockpit, but no details about these are known.
