The military strengths of Kenya and Uganda

The military strengths of Kenya and Uganda

If mines and oil were all it took, then quite a few African countries, including Tz, ought to be doing very well in all areas including the military. I don't know everything but at least I know that not to be the case. Congo has many times the minerals you mention, but could not defend itself against rag tag armies that are no better than militias on the move. Why didn't they sell a mine or two to the Chinese? I can now see why you would want to laugh.

There are more issues in EA than which country can attack Kenya, which is not going to happen. There are millions of people to pull out of poverty(I speak for Kenya in this case). I am confident that Kenya can focus on improving the livelihoods of its people and the rest will fall in place. No country is coming to invade us; the ones that can do it are too far away with bigger fish to fry.
Don't make me laugh, if need be (i.e., in desperate times) the GOT will pay gold/uranium/Diamonds/Tanzanites to acquire any number of military toys they want, in-fact she will just issue some exclusive mining licenses to the Chinese/Russian/American/Canadian who ever the suppliers are. This is what the resources are there for....

On the other hand UG has oil, now M-7 can afford any new gleaming toys like the new SU-MK2s....

What do you got to hold them? no enough resources to match only antiquated Tigers???

More than 220 and counting TPDF's birds (including the Mig 29s, MD-500s, Apaches-Aztechs etc, etc) are listed below, will the scrap metal experts/dealers please stand up:tongue:

So lets assume that i agree with you can you tell from my incomplete Orbit how many scrap metal did you find?, i am still waiting for your sources of 60 MD-500

Sorry, it's obvious that you aren't engaging in discussion in good faith...how can you still be asking what scrap metal did I find. You've made claims which I have comprehensively demolished with all the evidence anyone might need. It appears that you have selective reading skills because you very conveniently do not see posts which demolish your claims. Nitarudia tena...I have provided a manifest which shows that a lot of the aircraft in the orbat that you've provided are unservicable. I then followed up with pictures of some of the aircraft in question and you can clearly see that some are nothing more than scrap metal, especially the Bell Rangers, the Buffaloes and the Y12 but you're still listing them to show how JWTZ has a lot of aircraft.

As for my source for the MD's, I had checked janes and SIPRI and both agree (although they aren't linkable...you can check for yourself though). The first two were delivered in 1970, followed up 9 years later by 15 more and then 15 more with TOW were delivered a year later, and then 10 were delivered 5 years after that and the rest followed later that year.

Just to assist you here is your list, the MDs in question are less than 60 as you claim (we are not talking of the one went down on the first day of Operation Linda Nchi)...

Again, if you look at this list, you'll see all the planes listed on the manifest I had provided and the scrap metal whose pictures I posted up above are still listed. You've basically taken a list of all the aircraft that JWTZ has ever operated and are trying to pretend that they are operating all these aircraft now, even the ones which have been withdrawn from use for over 15 years. It's funny actually, because you're even listing the aircraft that crashed in Bukoba in May 1994

I don't know what your comprehension skills are like but maybe you need to get glasses. This list here clearly shows 59 MD's in three variations. Are you just trying to be obtuse here or are you not even understanding what you are looking at?

Having said that, just like the one for JWTZ, this list is also wrong; Kenya no longer operates the strikemaster (they were sold to Botswana) or the Albatross. It also lists only 14 F5's when we have more than that, actually. I suspect that these lists were compiled a long long time ago.

BTW, the one that crashed wasn't one of the MD's, it was a Z-9. You'll notice that those are also not on this list, neither are the MI 171sh which are doing the heavy lifting ,if you check the youtube videos, for operation linda nchi.

Read careful, i said they are not 60  ....59/=60

I actually did the same thing for KDF (or may be KDF birds don't crash:shock🙂, it is up to you now to produce a list of scrap metals....please declare to us/show source(s) of your information.....

Btw, below please find a legend:

Additionally, {F}= Air Force, {P}=Police, {G}=Government

Again, I think you are just trying to be obtuse...i've already posted a manifest on this thread and just to confirm it, followed it up with some photos. Has your selective reading struck again?

But you were trying to claim that there are only 5...so I was off by 1 while you were off by 54!

I found your 59 MDs from another source, you were supposed to furnish us with yours but you couldn't...just talking!

I might sound difficult to you but this is how i am used to do things, yes you posted a manifest but what are your sources? are they reliable? can we log into the site or at least positively see a link? etc, etc

Do you mind to post a KDF manifest?

That is a very rough picture of our airforces, There's no much difference apart from the obsoleteness of our jets.Militarily you will expect Kenya to have superior air power because as Said earlier Nairobi is within reach of Uganda and Tanzania missiles, Dar can be reached through air power and probably navy.
Every army knows whats up, and will build its capacity based on the threat and sensitivity of the reachable targets. Embakasy is within our radars, so was and I still believe is South Africa....Honestly the Chinese were monitoring the Falklands war from Ruvuma (for your information).
We know the potential threats , so does Kenya...... the rest is BS!

Why were the Chinese monitoring the Falklands war from Ruvuma? Is there some technology that they could only access in Ruvuma? Satellite communications maybe? An underground facility with signs that say "you will be shot if you go past this point"? Something about the Falklannds that Ruvuma is better placed to monitor than anything found in China? Cheap labor? The equatorial bulge of the earth perhaps reducing the latency in satellite communications by fractions of a nanosecond? I would love to know. Help a brother out.

eeh, i see a potential communications engineer here:lol:....It could also be due to the rotation of lines of apsides (joking)....

Back to the point, SOBY was trying to emphasize the point that if TPDF's radars have the capability to track activities as far as the southern Atlantic Embakasi won't be a problem....

Sir, they were in Angola and Ruvuma it's easy...... you can monitor South America easily from Atlantic Southern Africa (talk to you geography teacher) . Why you think DRC had American base back in the days?.... From Atlantic Southern Africa you can trace ships bound to South America.... thats some cold war ish.
But hey, ur Kenyan , so you are smarter!

This got me laughing so hard.. hahahaha.. atleast the contributors take jokes.. its fun to be on this forum again..
