Libyan Transitional National Council (TNC) chief Mustafa Abdel Jalil says fugitive ruler Muammar Gaddafi is still a threat while opposition forces are on the outskirts of Gaddafi's hometown.
The TNC head also on Monday called for continued international support at a meeting of NATO defense ministers in Doha, Qatar.

"I call for continued protection from NATO and its allies from this tyrant," Abdel Jalil was quoted as saying by Reuters.

"He [Gaddafi] is still a threat, not just for Libyans but for the entire world," he added.

Lugha hii ya threat for the intere world...ni lugha iliyotumiwa kuelezea Al qaeda.
Au "pockets" of Gaddafi loyalists zinaongezeka?

You get me wrong, my friend!

In the beginning, as Gaddafi ordered the mass murder of anti-government protestors, Obama and other Western leaders remained silent.

Mkuu
Jana tulikubaliana hakuna kufanya propaganda.

You get me wrong, my friend!

There would be no way that the Libyan people, after 42 years, would let Gaddafi continue his dictatorship. It was over for him..."
Anger simmers among pro-Gaddafi Libyans in Tripoli

"You media don't tell the truth, you're all traitors, spies," shouted a taxi driver, his face contorted with anger, not caring that nearby were armed and zealous rebels.

"You sold our country out," sho uted another man who came to join him, before a deafening crack prompted the shoppers in the busy street to duck and flinch.

"Look at this," shouted the taxi driver, pointing at the young rebel across the street who had fired an anti-aircraft gun into the air.

"This is what our country has come to," he said.

In Tripoli's Batata district, a shop worker ushered this reporter into a corner of the store, away from customers.

"Gaddafi gave us the best life. We were comfortable, we could go anywhere we wanted. Now we can't go out at all. I have friends in Gaddafi's army, and they will never surrender," the 20-year-old said.
"Only God, Mohammed and Muammar," he added, repeating a well-known pro-Gaddafi slogan that rebels have been busy defacing and covering with their own graffiti in recent days.
The shop worker's brother's allegiance was more nuanced.
"Before, arrogant or not, under Gaddafi there was no killing in the streets, no weapons. Now after the revolution, there's killing, fear. I wish he was still here," he said.
"There's more Gaddafi supporters than rebels here. But they can't act right now as we don't know what the future will be. They're waiting for Gaddafi to come back," he added.

One thing that I have been consequent from the very begining is: Gaddafi is a spent force and his time has come to relinquish power!

Libya threatens to become terrorist arms depot

Post-Gaddafi chaos exposes arsenals of small arms and chemicals to raids by smugglers and militants.

The collapse of strongman Muamar Gaddafi's government and the ensuing chaos in Libya could prove to be boon to the militant groups in Africa and the Middle East by opening up arsenals of weaponry ranging from small arms to chemicals, experts are warning.

Rebels have seized much of the country including most of the capital Tripoli, but as of late Thursday they were still battling Gaddafi loyalists and struggling to establish law and order in a country wracked by six months of civil war. Unorganized opposition fighters and ordinary Libyans have pried open weapons stores in the search for arms for battle and tradable goods.

"It's very hard to say what is actually out there. The large arsenals in the hands of Libyan armed forces have been plundered. This plundering has been very disorganized. People walk in and take whatever they need and load them onto trucks. No one knows where those trucks are going," said Pieter Wezeman, a research arms transfer program research, at the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI).

"There will be very many weapons from these arsenals spreading throughout Libya and maybe outside of Libya," Wezeman, told The Media Line.

Gaddafi is the third Arab leader to fall in the Arab Spring turmoil but the first to go down in a war that has left such anarchy its wake. The weapons stockpile could find its way across the country's desolate expanses and through its unguarded borders. Libya would turn into a weapons larder for groups such as Hamas in the Gaza Strip to fighters in Dafur and al-Qaida Islamists across North Africa and Iraq, experts said

Italian energy giant ENI signs deal with Libya rebels

29th August 2011

MILAN — Italian energy major ENI signed an agreement with the Libyan rebel leadership on Monday aimed at resuming its massive operations in the war-torn country and re-starting gas supplies to Italy. The deal also includes an urgent shipment of fuel for the Libyan population.

The agreement signed in Benghazi "strengthens cooperation in Libya" between ENI and the NTC (National Transitional Council), ENI said in a statement. ENI has been in Libya -- a former Italian colony -- since 1959 and is by far the biggest foreign energy producer in the oil-rich country.

ENI and the NTC "are committed to creating the conditions for a rapid and complete recovery of ENI's activities in Libya and to doing all that is necessary to restart operations on the Greenstream pipeline," it added. Greenstream connects Libya to Italy and accounts for a large share of Italian gas imports. The pipeline was suspended earlier this year.

ENI said it would also help rebels evaluate the state of energy infrastructure and provide "a first supply of refined petroleum products". ENI chief executive Paolo Scaroni said on Thursday that future fuel deliveries to Libya would be paid for through crude oil supplies from Libya. Scaroni said it could take up to 18 months to get back to normal activities because of extensive damage and the security situation on the ground.

ENI suspended almost all of its activities in the country during the conflict and currently produces only around 50,000 barrels per day compared to 280,000 barrels per day before the start of military operations.

IT is good to see bad guys behind bars. Especially if they're convicted. Justice is better than revenge. And justice must be done for the relatives of the victims as well as for the dead.

Umesema mwenyewe KAMA ni mamluki lakini ukweli blacks has been Subjected to Racial Profiling..

Kama wangetaka kufanya hivyo wangeshafanya zamani (of course covert agents/soldiers are already there, this is not a secret). They will never risk a change in public opinion should some of their soldiers get killed in combat in Libya.
