Kwa kuwa umetaka kujua acha nikupe maandiko sasa ya namna ya funga ya kikristo. Hii ipo mara 2 kufunga bila kula wala kunywa kwa kipindi chote cha maombi. Inaweza kuwa kwa siku mpaka 3 bila kula wala kunywa chochote.
Exodus 34:28
[28]And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.
Naye alikuwa huko pamoja na BWANA siku arobaini na masiku yake; hakula chakula, wala hakunywa maji. Naye akaandika katika hizo mbao, hayo maneno ya maagano, hizo amri kumi. Uso wa Musa Ung’aao
Matthew 4:2
[2]And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
Akafunga siku arobaini mchana na usiku, mwisho akaona njaa.
Luke 4:2
[2]Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.

Esther 4:16

Au kufunga na kula jioni hadi jioni huku ukiwa kwenye maombi.
Leviticus 23:32
[32]It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath.
Itakuwa kwenu sabato ya kustarehe kabisa, nanyi mtazitesa nafsi zenu; siku ya kenda ya mwezi wakati wa jioni, tangu jioni hata jioni, mtaishika hiyo Sabato yenu. Sikukuu ya Vibanda
Pia uelewe funga sio lazima kwa Wafuasi wa Kristo. Maandiko yanatuambia kuwa tufunge tu pale ambapo neema ya Kristo inapokuwa imeondoka kwetu au tukiwa kwenye maombi maalum. Hivyo issue za kufunga kwaresma sio kwa ajili ya Wakristo wote bali wale wanaoichuchumilia neema ya Kristo iliyoondolewa kwao au wenye maombi maalum kwa wakati huo.
Mark 2:18-20
[18]And the disciples of John and of the Pharisees used to fast: and they come and say unto him, Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast, but thy disciples fast not?
Nao wanafunzi wake Yohana na Mafarisayo walikuwa wakifunga; basi walikuja, wakamwambia, Kwani wanafunzi wa Yohana na wanafunzi wa Mafarisayo hufunga, bali wanafunzi wako hawafungi?
[19]And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? as long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.
Yesu akawaambia, Walioalikwa arusini wawezaje kufunga maadamu bwana-arusi yupo pamoja nao? Muda wote walipo na bwana-arusi pamoja nao hawawezi kufunga.
[20]But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days.
Lakini siku zitakuja watakapoondolewa bwana-arusi, ndipo watakapofunga siku ile.
Pia kuna wakati kama mkristo unapata kibano cha Mungu kutokana na kukengeuka. Namna pekee ya kupata huruma na neema ya msamaha wa Mungu ni kufunga kula na kunywa huku ukimuomba Mungu.
Acts 9:8-12
[8]And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus.
Sauli akainuka katika nchi, na macho yake yalipofumbuka, hakuona kitu; wakamshika mkono wakamleta mpaka Dameski.
[9]And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink.
Akawa siku tatu haoni; hali, wala hanywi.
[10]And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord.
Basi palikuwapo Dameski mwanafunzi jina lake Anania. Bwana akamwambia katika maono, Anania. Akasema, Mimi hapa, Bwana.
[11]And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,
Bwana akamwambia, Simama, enenda zako katika njia iitwayo Nyofu, ukaulize katika nyumba ya Yuda mtu aitwaye Sauli, wa Tarso; maana, angalia, anaomba;
[12]And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight.
naye amemwona mtu, jina lake Anania, akiingia, na kumwekea mikono juu yake, apate kuona tena.
Nadhani utakuwa umeelewa sasa.
