due to world shortage,in vegetable oils,the then british labour government,emanicipated The Tanganyika Groundnut scheme,hii ilikuwa late 1940's.it was decided to grow peanuts in kongwa(dodoma) on a large extensive scale,feasibility studies ziliconclude mradi ukikamilika,tanganyika itakhidi mahitaji ya vegetable oil duniani.the project cost a COLLOSSAL £ 49 million,this was a massive project.it FAILED,and almost led to the downfall of the labour government.huu mradi it is still talked about today,sababu it was massive.had the project succeded DODOMA and tanzania in general would have greatly benefited
