President Samia Hassan has chosen to consolidate her power and that of the ruling party by enacting laws that allow the security apparatus to abduct, torture and even .... extrajudicial killings and murder ....that are taking place right now under the administration of president Samia Hassan

Tundu Lissu deplored any chances of further engagement for talks with the Chama Cha Mapinduzi leadership about constitutional reforms, as for the past 3 years the approach has brought empty promises from the ruling party CCM which is under the leadership of President Samia Hassan

The CHADEMA senior leader Tundu Lissu urged the international community to revisit its close relationship with President Samia Hassan government.

Tundu Lissu lamented that we know all dictators when are faced with the possibility of sanctions, they always plea that the poor will bear the burden and they will ask for the saction to be uplifted. He argue the international community and partners not to listen to such pleas coming from dictators like Samia Suluhu Hassan.

The international community should rise firmly and start to implement measures and sactions from right now to support the majority who are being harassed through actions like using Food as a war weapon contrary to the UN resolution guidelines which Tanzania is a signatory, burning down vast land of savannah to forcefully evict the cattle herders in Ngorongoro Arusha region, the recent mass arrest of more than 500 CHADEMA cadres, abduction and killing of a senior CHADEMA functionary Ali Mohamed Kibao and kidnapping of opposition leaders all over Tanzania.

Mkuu, what Mbowe did was right. Kujaribu njia zote. Asingekubali maridhiano sasa hivi CCM wangekuwa wanasema CHADEMA ilikataa kukaa meza moja kuleta suluhisho. By the way, Mbowe angefanya nini cha zaidi? Watanzania wenyewe wamejikalia tu kama mizigo na hata kama anayewatetea akipata madhila hakuna support yoyote.

Retired diplomat and veteran Tanzanian politician, Prof. Anna Tibaijuka, has warned that election observers often do not get the full picture of what is happening on the ground, citing an example from her time as head of the United Nations in Nairobi during the 2008 election crisis.Tibaijuka made these remarks while delivering a lecture during World Democracy Day celebrations, which in Tanzania took place at the University of Dar es Salaam and were organized by the civil society organization Legal Human Rights Center.


Party dictatorship still exist in the politics of Tanzania and to overcome this can be done by allowing independent candidates to vie for political post .

Prof. Tibaijuka believes by introducing space for independent candidates it will strengthen the whole process of finding ideal candidates and thus as a nation we are going to have capable leaders at levels ...
