Je, Jamiatuli Issilamiya fil Tanganyika walijenga kitu gani kwasababu wao walikuwepo kabla ya Wapakistan hawajaingia Mombasa na Dar es Salaam. Hebu tuambie kitu kimoja tu kama alama ya elimu/afya iliyoachwa na Jamiatul lsamiyya.

Tumekuuliza kama EAMWS ilipigwa marufuku kwa tangazo la serikali, tangazo gani lilipiga marufuku Jamaiatul Isslamiya fil Tanganyika

Mlezi alikuwa Agakha kwanini narudi kujenga chuo pale alipodhulumiwa?

Juu kulikuwa na bango likionesha ile nyumba ni university. Mlango mmoja ulikuwa na kibao kimeandikwa Chancellor's office. Kwa udadisi wangu nikagundua kuwa ni "islamic university". Pale nje walikuwepo vijana wa kirangi-kutoka Kondoa wakiuza machungwa. Wakaniambia wamekuja kusoma elimu ya dini na walikuwa na matumaini ya kupelekwa uarabuni for further studies. Nilipoulizia zaidi kwa wagosi wenyeji, nikaambiwa ule ulikuwa mradi wa kitapeli wa watu fulani just for attracting funds from somewhere.

Hiyo ni true story.

Anyway, my point is it is possible hicho chuo anachokikomalia mzee Muddy kilikuwa kiwe kama hicho nilichokiona Tanga na kingekuwa ni cha watu wa dini fulani tu. Obviously hata ningekuwa mimi ndio serikali miaka ya 60 au 70 nisingekubali kuanzishwa kwa chuo kama hicho.

Inawezekana pia kingekuwa cha waismalia ambao hawakubaliki na majority Sunni muslims. Na hapo ndio mzee Muddy anapokuwa mjanja. Kwenye kudai kudhulumiwa, mabohora, ismailia na hata waislam wa bakwata, wote wanakuwa waislam. Lakini wakitokea waislam katika simulizi zake ambao hawaelekei kwenye mitizamo yake ya chuki, hao atasema sio waislam au wanatumikia mfumo kristo.

Muslim Congress iliyofanyika 1962 na 1963.

Madhumuni ilikuwa ni kuwakwamua Waislam kutoka dhulma waliyofanyiwa na ukoloni wa
kunyimwa elimu.

[TD] Abdulwahid died in 1968 at a time when the country was torn in silent strife; there was tension between Muslims and the Christian dominated government in power.

The unity of the country, something which Abdulwahid had fought for throughout his life, was being threatened.

The unity of Muslims was on the brink of disintegration.

There had been mass detention of Sheikhs under the Preventive Detention Act of 1962.

Some of these Sheikhs were Abdulwahid's political allies when he was trying to set up TANU.

Some of them supported Nyerere in those difficult early days of the struggle. Abdulwahid's fellow member of the TAA political subcommittee, Mufti Sheikh Hassan bin Amir, who was held in high esteem by all Muslims, had been arrested on Nyerere's orders and deported to Zanzibar, his country of origin; the reason given for his deportation was that Sheikh Hassan bin Amir was ‘plotting to overthrow the government'.

[TD="width: 752"] Sheikh Hassan bin Amir was among the few Muslim scholars who dared to stand against the government and to give his opinion on the government's negative stand on Islam.

Before his death reports had been reaching him that there was a systematic campaign within TANU, conducted by its new Christian leadership, to de-Islamise the party.

In the 1965 General Elections, TANU founder member Tewa Said Tewa lost his Kisarawe constituency to an unknown contestant, one H.A. Ramadhani Dollah.

Bibi Titi Mohamed, the only woman who built TANU and campaigned for Nyerere single-handedly, also lost her Rufiji seat to one A.M. Mtanga.

There were unconfirmed rumours of ballot rigging and a conspiracy against Tewa and Titi and certain names within the Party top leadership, including that of Nyerere were mentioned.

The two were respectively, president and vice-president of the EAMWS. [1]

To this day Tewa claims that he did not lose the election.

Election results were delayed for no apparent reason and were announced two days late.

[TD="width: 752"] Abdulwahid knew the consequences of this Muslim division.

He had witnessed the power of Muslim unity during the struggle for independence.

Abdulwahid also knew the force, fear and people behind the unholy alliance.

He knew about the conspiracy and the personalities working behind the scenes against Muslim unity.

Abdulwahid's former allies had come to fear that, after independence, Islam which had been the ideology of resistance against colonialism was becoming a threat to the future of Christianity in free Tanzania.

Unaweza na wewe kuandika kuhusu wazee wako au huna wazee?

Mohamed Saidi anadanganya anapozungumzia uongozi wa kwanza AA, hayo yamewekwa wazi katika mnakasha huu, nakushauri urudie kosoma michango ya watu humu ndani. Mohamed Saidi haishii hapo, anaondoka na hadithi zake hizo na kuzipeleka kwenye mihadhara yake ya kidini kwenda kumpakazia Nyerere kwamba ni adui wa uislam! Kwamba Nyerere alishirikiana na kanisa kuukandamiza uislam! tunapo mwambia atoe ushahidi anakuja na maandishi anayojinukuu mwenyewe kwenye kitabu chake! au atakwambia msome Sivalon (kwani Sivalon alikuwa msemaji wa kanisa?) au atakuja na hoja dhaifu kama hizi za kwako kwamba na nyinyi muandike historia ya wazee wenu! Hiyo sio sahihi hata kidogo. Acheni ushabiki !

In a message which was delivered by a mutual confidant, Kenyatta insisted that TAA leadership should go to the meeting armed.

TAA nominated Abdulwahid, Dossa Aziz and Stephen Mhando to attend the Arusha meeting.

Abdulwahid owned a pistol given to him during the war by a white officer as a birthday present because their birthday happened to conside.

Dossa Aziz was a proud owner of a powerful five-shot repeater gun. It is not known if Mhando owned any firearm.

[TD="width: 752"]The TAA delegates travelled separately in order to cover their movements. Dossa Aziz was the first among the four delegates to leave for Arusha via Dodoma. In those days there was no direct route to Arusha.

Travellers to Arusha had to pass through Dodoma. Dossa Aziz took with him his five-shot repeater gun.

In Dodoma Dossa Aziz was received by Ali Juma Ponda, the TAA Central Province Secretary, and after being briefed by Dossa Aziz about the scheduled TAA and KAU meeting, Ponda informed Dossa Aziz that he had received report that there had been serious skimishes between the Mau Mau and British troops; that the KAU leadership was being rounded up and it was very unlikely that Kenyatta and his delegation would travel to Arusha.

Dossa Aziz changed his mind and proceeded to Mwanza by train to inspect TAA branches.

Abdulwahid and Mhando received similar reports on time and were warned not to proceed to Arusha because of the unforseen events in Kenya.

[TD="width: 752"]In Mwanza Dossa Aziz was received by Dr Joseph Mutahangarwa, TAA Vice-President in Lake Province.

Dr Mutahangarwa was the first African to qualify as a medical doctor.

After learning about the Arusha meeting, Dr Mutahangarwa warned Dossa Aziz about the risk Abdulwahid was taking as Secretary and Acting President of the Association.

Dr Mutahangarwa pointed out to Dossa Aziz the dangers that the Association and its leadership would face should the government discover that TAA was trying to link its own struggle with that of KAU. These fears expressed by Dr Mutahangarwa were without doubt genuine because KAU was suspected of supporting and providing leadership to Mau Mau, with Kenyatta and Kaggia as ringleaders.

Dossa Aziz boarded a ship at Mwanza for Bukoba where he was received by Chief Rutinwa and other members of the TAA Bukoba branch, including veteran politician Ali Migeyo and Suedi Kagasheki. [2]

[TD="width: 752"]Upon his return, Dossa Aziz was arrested at Dar es Salaam railway station, and marched off to the Central Police Station just across the road where he was interrogated.

The white police officer wanted to know where Dossa Aziz had been and why he was travelling around the country with a powerful gun.

Dossa’s father, Aziz Ali, intervened and Dossa Aziz was set free without being charged.

Many years later Abdulwahid’s friend, now a senior government official, had an audience with President Kenyatta at the State House in Nairobi.

Surprisingly Kenyatta remembered him as the person who accompanied Abdulwahid to that meeting.

With his broken Swahili and heavy Kikuyu accent, Kenyatta reminded him of the 1950 meeting.

He called his official photographer who took their photograph together.

This photograph decorates the living room of the former footballer to this day.
Kenyatta also presented him with a tie with the national colours of Kenya.

Naomba kuuliza umesema 1968 kupitia Wapakistan waliotoka Mombasa walitaka kuigawa nchi, tunajifunza kutoka kwenu tufahamishe hilo kundi la Wapakistan kaka lilikuwa linaitwaje.

Mohamed, unaposema huna haja ya kujibu maana yake si kuwa huna haja bali huna jibu.

Tunajua kuwa AMNUT walitaka kumuondoa Nyerere madarakani bila sababu ya msingi isipokuwa dini yake.
Hiyo ilikuwa 1958 kabala ya uhuru na kwa maneno yako.

Masalia haya ya AMNUT yanauaminisha umma kuwa waislam walianza kumchukia Nyerere. Hili kundi linatumia neno Uislam kujumisha kila mtu ili kuleta wingi hata kama tunajua kuwa kuna waislam wema kwa mamilioni waliompenda sana Nyerere.
Kwahiyo si sahihi na ni uongo uliotamalaki pale mtu anaposema waislam walianza!

Narudia, Uislam ni dini na imani. Uislam upo kwa mtu na wala hakuna application form ya kuwa mwislam.
Hizi organization ni vyombo tu vya kurahisisha mawasiliano, in the end atabaki mja na mola wale.
Hakuna taasisi au mtu aliye na haki ya kufanya vetting who is a moslem who is not.
