Haya maneno ni ya Abdulwahid Sykes?



Kama ni ya kwake basi mjadala umekwisha kuhusu nani aliasisi TANU.

Mzee Kassela Bantu kwa kweli amemaliza maisha yake na kaingia kaburini
na kinyongo kikubwa sana dhidi ya wale waliokuwa madarakani.

Nilipata bahati ya kumtembelea nyumbani kwake Barabara ya Mwinjuma,
Mwananyamala.

Nilipata pia kuwa na mazungumzo na yeye nyumbani kwa Chief Abdallah
Said Fundikira.

[TD] There is a very famous photograph of TANU founding members.

In that photograph three founder members are out of sight; Ally Sykes, Tewa Said Tewa and Kasella Bantu.

These were civil servants and in the British tradition of separation of politics from civil service government, employees were not allowed to participate in politics.

Any African who contravened that sacred regulation was liable for summary dismissal.

Therefore when the photograph was taken the three opted out.

The photograph was taken by Gomes, a very famous Goan photographer in those days.

Abdulwahid had arranged for Gomes to come to the TAA headquarters to take the historic photograph.

Gomes did not come on time.

Getting impatient with waiting, Abdulwahid asked his young brother Abbas to go and fetch Gomes from his studio at Acacia Avenue (now Samora Avenue) in town center.

The only means of transport for TAA was a beaten old bicycle.

While Abbas was paddling towards the town center to fetch Gomes, the photographer came and took the group photograph.

And this is how Abbas Sykes missed the group photograph.

[TD="width: 601"] But this famous photograph was not to escape controversy.

Mischievous hands tempered with it by cleverly inserting the face of Kasella Bantu in the original photograph.

Bantu's face has been inserted between Abdulwahid and Chief Patrick Kunambi.

It would have been understandable if Ally and Tewa's photographs were also inserted.

There are now so to speak two photographs of the same historic occasion.

The original copy with the three founder members out of sight; and the new one showing the inserted face of Kasella Bantu, but with two of the original TANU founder members, Ally and Tewa, missing.

Germano Pacha has commented that, if it were not for this photograph there would have been many TANU founder members other than the original seventeen who met in Dar es Salaam on 7 th July, 1954.

An interested observer has noted that:

Second, his claim to have been the convenor of the founding conference typifies a man drunken with historical fantasy.

President Nyerere was elected TAA President in October 1953 to replace Kleist Sykes.

He was entrusted with the task of transforming TAA into a dynamic nationalist and independence movement.

Kasella Bantu's claim for credit is unsupported by history.'' [1]

[TD="width: 601"] While the above information has helped to shed light on this controversy in Tanganyika's history, any person familiar with the history of the Party will not fail to notice some errors in the statement.

Julius Nyerere was elected president on 17 th April, 1953, and not in October, 1953; and Nyerere did not replace Kleist Sykes but his son Abdulwahid.

The Party can also not dispute the historical fact that he participated in the ‘drafting' [2] of the TANU constitution.

Kasella Bantu has, on every opportunity available, spoken about these two historic facts both while in exile abroad and at home after ending his exile.

Bantu, like many other veterans, feels that his contribution to Tanganyika's independence struggle has not been requited.

Wanaweza kupitia vitabu na paper za John Iliffe kuhusu AA kujiridhisha ikiwa watapenda. Cecil Matola kuwa ni muasisi mkuu wa AA hapana. Kleist Sykes alitawala historia ya Dar es Salaam katika miaka ile hadi 1949 alipofariki kwa sababu ya mambo mengi kubwa likuwa elimu yake na uwezo wake wa fedha.

The African Associations concern for unity arose from its founders' experience. Its first President was Mwalimu Cecil Matola, the aristocratic Yao teacher educated at Kiungani who worked in Kenya before becoming a pioneer of TTACSA and senior African teacher at the Dar es Salaam government school, which made him almost ex-officio leader of the capital's educated Africans. The first association's inaugural meeting took place in his house and he remained its President until he died in March 1931.. Through him the African Association inherited Kiungani's supra-tribal unity and the predominance which its former pupils enjoyed during the 1920s.

Hicho kipande umekiweka makusudi kabisa kuonyesha kuwa mwaka 1951 wazee wako walikuwa na ABCD. Fair enough! na zaidi ya hapo kuonyesha kuwa mwaka 1951 ni mwaka mmoja tu tangu Nyerere afundishwe siasa na Sykes.
Pamoja na kukuwekea ushahidi usio na shaka bado unaamini kuwa Nyerere aliingizwa katika siasa na Sykes kwa mantiki ya 1951.

Hapo ndipo historia yako inapokuwa mbovu kuliko ya TANU na sioni kama kuna marekebisho unless mtu aamue kujilazimisha kukubaliana nawe.

Hapo Juu Sykes anasema yeye ni mmoja wa founders wa TANU, sasa hii ya wazee wako ilikuwa TANU ipi?
Hata kama ilikuwa ya TAA na Nyerere ni mzee wako? maana aliwahi kuwa katibu wa tawi.
Kama itaanzia 1929 Cecil Matola naye alikuwa mzee wako maana ndiye mwenye AA

Sijui kama patakalika siku atakapokutana uso kwa uso na Mmanyema Mkristo na ni bahati ilioje kuwa mpaka wakati huu anazeeka hiyo balaa haijawahi kumfika, alhamdulilahi!

You and I have never seen Our true history - all we've seen is hypocrisy. When we open our eyes today and look around Our Tanzania, we see Tanzania not through the eyes of someone who has enjoyed the fruits of Nationalism. We see Tanzania through the eyes of someone who has been the victim of Nationalism. We don't see any Tanzania. We've experienced only the Tanzanian nightmare..

Wala mie sijakutaja nilichofanya nilikuwa nakujibu wewe baada ya kunitaja.

Mag3, mnafiki ni chakula ya mamba leo hii unasema wewe na wenzako kuwa mnahubiri upendo, na umoja tofauti na Mohamed Said anahubiri uchochezi.

Sisi wewe na wenzako ndiyo mnasema hawa Waislam hawana akili za kuongoza wana akili za madrasa tu na kazi yao kukaa vibarazani ni kunywa gahawa.

Alichofanya Mohamed Said ni kuandika historia iliyofichwa kuhusu harakati za Waislam dhidi ya ukololoni wa Waingereza katika Tanganyika.

Wewe na wenzako mlivyokuwa na chuki dhidi ya Uislam na Waislam ndiyo mnaita uchochezi.
