Huyo ata nashuku ni Mkuria but most Kenyans assume anyone by the name Chacha, Mwita, Marwa, ni mkisii. The most prominent Kuria huku would be senator Machage of Migori county
Machage is no longer the senator 😂
That judge is 100% Kuria. There are many other prominent Kurias apart from Machage. Do you remember the former Mombasa county commissioner? The famous Nelson Marwa?

Vp tunapozungumzia swala la ukakamavu na ushujaa kwa kenya is it normal for many tribes?

Hawa ndugu zetu wakurya kulikuwa kuna vita nyingi sana hapo zamani za kuibiana ngombe, polisi walishindwa kutuliza ilibidi waende commandoes
This is 100% true. I happen to live next to the border betwen the Kuria and the Luo and I can attest to this. These people are professional cattle rustlers. At one point, even the regular police could not combat them. It had to take the involvement of the special anti-theft stock unit to cool matters down. They took so many herds from our side that it reached a point we stopped keeping animals all together. Sad but true 😂

I'm sure u know by now Kenya is a very tribalistic society ....unlike TZ. Huku most people can fluently speak their mother tongue....and strongly follow their tribal cultural beliefs. Below are some of the tribal stereo types as I know them.....

1. Business men/ entrepreneurs - Kikuyu, Somali, Kisii
2. Loyalty/honest/wangwana- Kamba, Taita
3. Proud/Braggarts - Luo
4. Strong/built - Luhya/Luo
5. Athletic - Kalenjin
6. Washamba - Kalenjin/Maasai/Turkana
7. Lazy - coastal tribes
8. Foody - Luhya
9. Temper/violence - Meru, Kisii
10. Best wives - Kambas
11. Black Magic - Kambas, Digos

Disclaimer ....these are just stereotypes
nmependa hii conversation between two neighbours bila kutambiana wala kusemana....kudos Gwizzy and dudu jeupe we should have a lot of this constructive interraction

I think kwa uchunguzi kidogo nilioufanya haya mambo ya ukabila kwa nchi nyingi ni zile ambazo hazikupitia ujamaa.

At first hata huku kwetu zamani ukabila ulikwepo, many tribal leaders were given high ranks serikalini

System ya ujamaa it was painful economically kubania advantages za capitalism lakini angalau ilisasaidia kuunganisha tz yenye makabila zaidi ya 120 to work towards governmenr interests na sio interests za makabila yao, Njia ilikuwa kumpeleka mmasai kufanyia kazi kwa wajaluo, mkuria kwenda kufanyia kazi uchagani, n.k

just my opinion,

Kwa huku pia tulikuwa tunaskiaga tu those kinds of stereo types, ila baada ya kuishi nao, they are just cool guys tofauti na tulivyowaza, but yes ukiwachokoza unawashiwa moto, kumbuka haya ni makabila ya wafugaji.

By the way can you say anything positive about the kurias, masai, wajaluo in kenya.

It's not all kuria but just a small number of them that makes the whole tribe to be wrongfully assumed as thieves.

In Tanzania many of these thieves were killed and things have been cool for like 10 years now.

These thieves really made a headline in 2008 - 2009 in Tanzania, Bullets, arrows, spears were on air 24/7 those years, The police couldn't handle that because the thieves had Ak 47s, Rifles and could aim very accurately,

They stole cows and grazed them infront of police and no police dared to go near, that was just a death wish, many of the cows were stolen and crossed to kenya to make it hard to trace.

The last resort was using millitary commandoes to solve the situation.

Many of the thieves had been wiped and things have been calm for almost 10 years.

Nadhani Kenya wako kidogo sana to make an impact. Actually most Kenyans I'm sure have never interacted with a Kuria...Myself I didn't know they exist until high school😀😀😀.... People here confuse them with Kisiis!!! I came to learn that they are not even neighbors with the Kisiii community.

Names like Marwa, Chacha and Robi (female) are assumed to be Kisii names but I know better since I've been to sirare, tarime Musoma and Mwanza in TZ and Kehancha, Taranganya and Isebania in Kenya
Nimewahi kukaa na wakamba, their language sounds like Kurya.

Nadhani wanaelewana wakiongea

Kuna wachaga kule mbeya wanaongea kinyakyusa balaa utafikili wanyaki kumbe sio walipo fika tu ndo wakajifunza.mchaga ameshindwana na mkinga tu.
