Dude, what you call the 'concrete base' is actually what they call the pavement layer in Civil Engineering. In this case, this is a rigid type of pavement. We also have flexible, semi rigid and composite types.

In Dar's BRT, they happened to choose to make the BRT lanes pavement rigid while the normal lanes were made flexible.

Now, the type of pavement does not determine whether a lane is a BRT lane or not. They could as well have made the Normal lanes to be rigid and BRT flexible or both rigid or both flexible. Claiming that a BRT lane has to have a rigid type pavement because the Dar BRT has rigid type pavement is as absurd as claiming all BRT buses must be blue in colour because Dar's BRT buses are blue in colour.

Mr. Civil engineer, BRT is not about whether its made of concrete or normal bitumen. BRT is a "system" that includes Bus company, fleet and route management, intergrated payment systems and most importantly, a business model.
Your voodo civil engineering knowledge is useless if you are stuck on lame book knowledge and theoretical concrete/tarmack arguments.
Nyayo bus failed because if lack of a business model, whats the business model here?What we have seen in these pictures is shit, unplanned nonesense, trying hard to prove a point while looking silly doing it

Dont be stupid. When i talk of concrete i dont mean paved roads. I mean a mixture of steel and motar.

BRT should have the system inserted into the busses which will alart the passengers the names of the next stops when approaching automatically,

BRT should have the system to countdown minutes remained to reach the final bus stop

These are few characteristics of BRT of Dar
