All Tanzanians deserve it, sio kuja kumsifia raisi ni kama amewafanyia msaada!
Hapa huwezi muona giza🙂😀Kenya Railway students training in China Jiaotong university

Aawapii hii ya Kenya ni tembo mkubwa mweuuuupe..One day, very soon tutasafiri kutoka Dar mpaka Nairobi kwa treni ya umeme, kutoka Mombasa mpaka Arusha, mwanza mpaka kisumu.. that day when all East Africa will be connected..
140km/hr inafika....... Maximum ni 158km/hr kwa hiyo dieselThis guys with a stop of 20 min at Voi and 20 min Mtito Andei, and they do 4hrs 30 min Nairobi to Mombasa?? It means this trains do speeds above 140Km/hr
SGR Nairobi – Mombasa Test Ride
I am loving the SGR, now a person can snatch a sunday, go to Mombasa and come back to Nairobi in the evening to prepare for Monday at work! I love this, I love this, I love this!!!

Ni ujinga kutumia the writings on the coach instead of the engine power itself as a measure how fast the train can go!140km/hr inafika....... Maximum ni 158km/hr kwa hiyo diesel
View attachment 504503
Tukiweka stima by 2020 hapo ndo itakua balaa... Itakua 250km/hr kwenda mbele!!!
Hahahaha! Stop your desperation, 120Km/H is the average speed, remember we have the Maximum and 0Km/h speeds on the journey. From the video, the Vlogger said they took 2hrs exactly from Nairobi to Mtito Andei 240Km, Meaning 120Km/h on average, do you know the maximum speed???Ni ujinga kutumia the writings on the coach instead of the engine power itself as a measure how fast the train can go!
That writing specifies at what speed can the coach be dragged before it overturns!
plus the railtrack itself if allows a train to move at that speed!Hahahaha! Stop your desperation, 120Km/H is the average speed, remember we have the Maximum and 0Km/h speeds on the journey. From the video, the Vlogger said they took 2hrs exactly from Nairobi to Mtito Andei 240Km, Meaning 120Km/h on average, do you know the maximum speed???
This is Kenya, This is how we do!
Hio yote ulioandika ni ujinga!!!!!Ni ujinga kutumia the writings on the coach instead of the engine power itself as a measure how fast the train can go!
That writing specifies at what speed can the coach be dragged before it overturns!
If we did the same thing with your SGR ungekua unalia tuna povu na wivu tele......
Anyway, that part about engine power and even the rail itself is a problem for engineers before the locomotive or rail gets built when everything is still theoretical..... At the stage where Kenya's SGR has reached those things are not the subject anymore...The only one way of measuring how fast the train can go at that stage when everything is already build is by driving the train and accelerating to see how fast it goes...And they don't just write that speed on the coach..... That writing is only put there after the train is tested on the track to the maximum speed.....So that 158km/hr speed was actually achieved during testing....
the rail itself can support speeds of up to 250km/hr, so even if the diesel-electric loco could manage to generate enough power to go past 160km/hr the train would never overturn.. a train can only overturn if the rail is unstable(due to old age or lack of repair) or not build to support that capacity...Remember at the speedometer of our passenger train the red rile starts from 160-200km/hr meaning theoretically the locomotive is built to withdtand speeds of upto 200km/hr after the 200 the engine will be overwhelmed ,brakes might stop working ----->the same thing with a car when you go beyond the speedometer...thats why you start to get warnings when you reach towards the end of speedometre......... endelea kumwaga povu
Ha! ntahakikisha anajua hiloSafi xana..mzazi wako hakuharibu karo shuleni
nice . Raw horsepower alone does not define any moving machine. I love this discussion, its like the times when americans cant accept that a Su 35 is a superior jet to the F-22 Raptor, even when all the specs point the discussion in that direction and when other experts in the field concur.unamaanisha zile loco mliletewa juzi juzi zikapigwa mapicha pale dar zikiwa na mabehewa mapya ya abiria?Haijalishi pia, based on the first comment about HP
kwamfano hawa hapa walikua wanajadiliana which is the most powerfull locomotive engine in India among theses ones
- WAG-9H, 6350 HP
- WAG-9, 6350 HP
- WAP-7 6350 HP
- WAG-6A/B/C, 6110 HP
- WDG-5, 5500 HP
- WAG-7, 5350 HP
- WAP-4 5350 HP
- WCAM-3, 5000 HP
- WCAM-2, 4600 HP
- WDG-4B/D, 4500 HP
- WDP-4B/D, 4500 HP
- WAG-5, 4350 HP
Mwanzo utafikiri ni hio number one, alafu pia wakapeana list ya tractive effort ya the same locos
A list according to Tractive effort (TE)
- WAG-7H, TE: 91000 KgF
- WDG-4, TE: 55000 KgF (Creep Control), WDG-4: 34100 KgF.
- WAG-9, TE: 53000 KgF
- WAG-7, TE: 45000 KgF
- WAG-6, TE: 41000 KgF
- WDP-4B/D: 39000 KgF
- WDM-3F, 38060 KgF
- WDM-3D, 36030 KgF
- WAP-7, 36000 KgF
- WAP-4, 35600 KgF
- WAG-5, 33840 KgF
- WAM-4 33840 KgF
In the end one concluded that the most powerful locomotive ilikua ni WDP 4D ( 4500 HP)
hile the raw horsepower rating of a loco is important, most people tend to overlook the fact that it is not the whole story. A locomotives power generally depends on three things - Horsepower rating, max tractive effort and weight of loco.
The ‘tractive effort’ is a measure of how large a load the loco can pull and set in motion from a standstill — the maximum force it can exert at the drawbar or coupling. The loco's weight also comes into play, as a heavier loco can pull a larger load without its wheels slipping. Once the wheels begin slipping, the force that can be exerted by the loco drops dramatically. (Slipping occurs more with the front wheels because the front of the loco tends to lift slightly due to the reaction torque exerted by the rails on the loco.) Modern locos tend to have electronic slip control to control the power applied to each axle separately to minimize slip and maximize the tractive effort under different conditions.
If all the above factors are taken in to account, then WDG4 is currently the most powerful loco. The WDG4 weighs 126 tonnes, has a raw horsepower rating of 4000hp and its max tractive effort is 55100 kg. Add to that, Creep Control, which is essentially computer controlled wheel slip in order to maximize tractive effort.
