Aliyepewa jina la utani (nickname) ''The Bank'' alikuwa Waziri Dossa Aziz lakini akijulikana zaidi kwa jina la Dossa.
Sina taarifa ya nyaraka zake.

Kleist alisema kuwa huwezi kutajirika katika kazi ya kuajiriwa.
Njia nzuri ya kuboresha maisha ni kufanya kazi na kuwa na biashara.

Katika wanae aliyefanya biashara ni Ally Sykes.

Msome hapa chini Ally Sykes akizungumza na mimi takriban miaka 20 iliyopita:

''We (with Peter Colmore) represented, promoted, and were consultants to Coca
Cola (East Africa) Ltd; Cooper Motors Corporation Ltd; Allsopp (EA) Ltd; Shell
Company of East Africa Ltd, Aspro Nicholas Ltd; Gailey and Roberts Ltd; Bata
Shoes Company Ltd; Kenya Broadcasting Service, Cotton Lint and Seed Marketing
Board, Raleigh Industries of East Africa Ltd; we were also commercial representative
in Kenya for Tanganyika Broadcasting Corporation.

The head office of this massive sales promotion venture was in Nairobi, Delamere
Avenue, now Kenyatta Avenue. Peter Colmore built some products into household
names in East Africa.

The best musicians East Africa had ever known were used to promote these products.

After independence and following the Arusha Declaration of 1967 which intended to
turn Tanzania into a socialist state the government passed the Leadership Code.

The code prohibited civil servants to engage in business, draw more than one salary;
own property or hold shares in a private company.

The code even prevented a civil servant from renting out property.

I had a feeling that the Arusha Declaration would be the turning point in my career
and business relationship with Colmore because as a civil servant I had property and
was an established entrepreneur.

In 1971 the government passed the Acquisition of Building Act.

By a stroke of a pen all buildings with the value of more than a hundred thousand
became government property.

We lost some property through nationalisation including the office, which at that time was
owned by Colmore.

The moral behind all this was Nyerere's belief that Arusha Declaration
and nationalisation would establish an agrarian society in Tanzania.

Colmore who could not stand the political climate wound up sold the company to me and
returned to Nairobi.''
