Udinese and FC Barcelona have reached an agreement on the transfer of Alexis Sanchez. The cost of the deal is 26 million Euros with added variables of 11.5 million.
The player is due in Barcelona this weekend. Medical tests and the signing of the contract, which is for five years, will take place on Monday.
The 22 year old Chilean player is coming to Barça from the Italian club Udinese, where he's played for the last three seasons. Last season he was voted best player in Serie A, after scoring 12 goals in 31 games.
This summer (of 2011) he's been playing in the Copa America for his country's national team, who were eliminated in the quarter-finals by Venezuela. Alexis played a total of four games in which he scored 1 goal and where he was chosen MVP in two of the matches.
Dazzled in Italy
After his debut in the 2008/09 season with Udinese, where he played 95 games, the last two seasons have been the most prolific in terms of his play and goals. Last season he scored 12 goals, 4 of them in the same game, and has been sought by the best teams in the world. However, he has been strongly committed to playing for Barça.

Dili imekamilika mkuu, anakwenda cliniki kesho kupimwa afya, na j3 atatambulishwa kwa team mates wake kabla ya kusaini mkataba wa miaka 5. Sasa tutakuwa na kikosi kipana kidogo. Issue ya Cesc inahitaji respect ya hali ya juu kwa timu yake sababu bado ana mkataba nao wa muda mrefu, ni suala la muda tu kabla ya kijana kurejea home.

FC Barcelona's Leo Messi and Xavi Hernández have been nominated for UEFA's award for the best player of the 2010/11 season, along with Cristiano Ronaldo. The award will be presented on August 25 in Monaco before the draw for the Champions League.
The UEFA Club Footballer of the Year is recognises the best player, regardless of nationality, who played in one of the 53 UEFA member states over the previous season. The jury is made up of 53 journalists from each of those nations and announced today that the three short-listed players are Leo Messi and Xavi Hernández of the latest Champions League winners, Barcelona, and Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo.
Four FCB players in Top 10
As well as the top three, the positions of the other players in the top ten were also announced. Two of these were Barça players, Andrés Iniesta, who came fourth, and Gerard Piqué, who cam ninth.
Voting on August 25
The winner will be announced on August 25 at the UEFA Champions League group stage draw. The 53 journalists will be casting their votes on the same day as the announcement.
