James Sinclair: A Friend or Foe?

James Sinclair: A Friend or Foe?

Jamani na George Bush alikuja kufanya nini? kwa sababu raisi wa Marekani wakati anamaliza muda wake kuja na kukaa siku 3 kwenye nchi ya Africa (At all places) na kuandika check ya Dola milioni kadhaa. Nchi ilikuwa haiuzwi kweli?

Title: A Special Note to Shareholders
Author: Jim Sinclair
________________________________
Dear Friends,

Many of you are aware of the Committee established by Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete to review the country's mining industry, an integral and growing part of the East African nation's economy.

One of the Committee's mandates was to recommend policies that would stimulate foreign investment and produce long term, sustainable benefits to Tanzanians.

Senior government representatives discussed the major tenets of the Commission's recommendations in public weeks prior to your Company's brief and complimentary note on the recommendations to our shareholders. Comments from senior government officials were carried on major wire services and they were also reviewed prior to our stockholder's note on CNN International and Bloomberg Financial TV.

Your Company was one of the affected parties that were given an opportunity to comment on the Committee's recommendations, which will understandably be subject to further scrutiny and debate.

>From a corporate standpoint, our main concern was the impact of the Committee's recommendations on exploration-stage companies which are involved in what is arguably the highest risk segment of the minerals industry. On balance, we had a positive view of the recommendations and feel they will serve to encourage investment in this important segment of the nation's minerals industry - if indeed they are fully implemented.

As one might expect, any legislation involving such an important segment of the Tanzanian economy has generated considerable debate. In my opinion, a small percentage of this rhetoric has been instigated by special interest groups in the West whose commentary reads like it comes from a standard playbook.

In any event, I would encourage all shareholders to seek out the facts and avoid succumbing to rumours and innuendo that I feel is both politically and market oriented. I am proud of my long association with the Republic of Tanzania and have invested substantial amounts of my personal resources in the country's minerals industry.

In addition, the social service projects achieved by the Sinclair family are substantial. Two that stand out are the total funding of the hospital established at the Bulyanhulu mine and a major orphanage/hospice operating in the Kabanga area that was donated to the Mother Theresa organization.

James Sinclair, his family and businesses, have served the Tanzanian people in many ways for the past eighteen years. These activities have involved investments exceeding USD $33,000,000 of private funds for exploration activity in the Lake Victoria goldfields of Tanzania.

At all times, we have abided by applicable Tanzanian laws, paid all required taxes to the government and provided meaningful employment and skills training to our employees - the majority of whom are Tanzanians.

Sincerely,

James Sinclair

Mwehu!

Does he even remember what he actually said... ? let me refresh his memory..

I've had the privilege of reviewing the Committee's
recommendations - along with comments from the
Chamber of Mines - and have no serious issues with
them. What's important to know, however, is that the
man who will make the final decision on the
recommendations is the President - not the
Committee.

this is what most people have problem with.. he did not say that he watched CNN or some Network news he said he had a privilege or reviewing the "Committee's recommendations" not a recommendation, not a "a few" but it is implied that he reviewed all of them which would have made the report public!

Mr. Sinclair, I know you are reading this, please do not play us for a fool and to equate our questioning as some sort of "western" conspiracy is to insult our intelligence and capability to reason. These faculties are not reserved for the "western mind" or some rich and spoiled investor! We are very capable of forming our own opinions on issues that matter to us. So stop patronizing us under the guise of "the benevolent investor" who has some connection to saintly Mother Theresa!

What you have done is exhibit the same arrogance of corruption that we find very offensive.

Mr SIN_clair.

This is what you are saying,

..In any event, I would encourage all shareholders to seek out the facts and avoid succumbing to rumours and innuendo that I feel is both politically and market oriented...

But before you take us to all that way....What matters to us is this.

I've had the privilege of reviewing the Committee's recommendations - along with comments from the
Chamber of Mines - and have no serious issues with
them. What's important to know, however, is that the
man who will make the final decision on the
recommendations is the President - not the
Committee.

How dare do yuo look down the members (Tanzanians) of the commetee like that... as if they are useless and filthy! Go any where else and say those words with such an attitude but not with Tanzanias.. get to Know the history of this nation.

...along with comments from the Chamber of Mines - and have no serious issues with them
.

The best thing you could have done was come up with a clear apology and define your next move accordingly.

AND:

Why do you think they dont matter to you but ..only the President?

What's important to know, however, is that the man who will make the final decision on the recommendations is the President - not the Committee

Oh My God.... Mr SIN_CL_AIR This inconsistent with reason or logic or common sense. Its totaly absurd! dont AIR your SIN to our nation! We have a lot going on for the moment.

Hivi sinclair anadhani anamchezea nani? hayo maelezo meengi kuwa amefanyia mengi Tanzania ni crap.. labda ajibu what was his motivation for investment? and what did he get in return? And in his case, kwa kukaa miaka yote hiyo inamaanisha amekula mno sasa anakufuru! enough now mister!

Naam imani ya Watanzania waliyokuwa nayo kwake yote imepotea.

Jamani harakati zetu zimejibiwa na Sinclair ! Kuna watu wake humu wanampasha habari.

It is clear that information on CNN is not privileged. So which is which Mr. Sinclair, are you a swindler or an inside trader?

Or did you manage to be a bit of both?
