We may have had an influx of Korean celebrity couples this year, but sometimes those couples just aren't meant to be. Korean media darlings Lee Seung Gi and Girls' Generation's Yoona officially confirmed their amicable breakup on August 13 via their agencies.

Star News released a report from an anonymous source stating that the two had broken up because their busy schedules prevented them from seeing each other. Following the report, Yoona's agency, SM Entertainment, confirmed the news with this statement: “The couple recently ended their relationship, though they decided to remain good friends.”
Yoona has spent the last few months in China filming the drama God of War Zhao Jun, and now she is busy with promotional activities for Girls' Generation. Lee released the film Love Forecast earlier this year, and he also had a music comeback in June, so it's no surprise that the two weren't able to spend much time together.

Yoona and Lee Seung Gi dated for a year and nine months, and they announced their relationship in January 2014.
