Ni aibu mapokezi ya ndege Tanzania

Hivi ndege ikija bila sherehe sijui wanapungukiwa na nini?
 
Wacha fixi za kukariri vitu ulivyosoma kwenye madaftari ya shule. Ndege moja alitoroka nayo rubani kuja nayo Tz na tatu zilikuwepo hapa Tz kwa hivyo zikabakia hapa. Hizo 13 labda kama uliziota maana kila siku ilikuwa cancellation ya flights mpaka ATC ilibadilishwa jina ikaitwa Any Time Cancellation. Na bado kipindi kile hakikuwa na wapandaji ndege wengi kama sasa.

Haya hayo maendeleo ya viwanda yameishia wapi? Mbona ndiyo nchi iliingia kwenye dimbwi kubwa la njaa na dhiki iliyokithiri? Viwanda vile ilikuwa misaada kutoka socialist countries lakini hakukuwa na sustainability plan na ndiyo mana vilikufa. Hata kununua vitenge au kanga tu ilikuwa kwa foleni.

Labda nikueleze hivi: hazikutosha hata kidogo licha ya kuwa wapandaji wa ndege walikuwa wachache kipindi kile.

Mara kadhaa tulikuwa tunakwenda airport tunasubiri ndege halafu tunaambiwa 'cancelled' na ndiyo maana iliitwa Any Time Cancelled (ATC). Hata rushwa haikuanza jana na leo, ilikuwa ukitaka tiketi ya kwenda sehemu baadhi ya wakati lazima 'unyooshe mkono'.

Hayo yote niliyokueleza nimeyashuhudia mwenyewe katika kipindi hicho.

Hata kama ulikosa kufuatilia matukio hayo ya kihistoria, ungekuwa unapenda kuutafuta ufahamu, ungekumbuka hata majibu ya Jakaya Kikwete mwaka 2018 alipoulizwa kuhusu ununuaji wa ndege. Alisema, 'siyo mara ya kwanza Tanzania kununua ndege. Wakati wa Mwalimu, tulinunua ndege mpya na nyingine tulikodi, tulikuwa na ndege 13, lakini bado ATC ilishindwa kujiendesha'. Air Tanzania Corporation (1977–2002)

The Air Tanzania Corporation (ATC) was established on 11 March 1977 after the break-up of East African Airways (EAA), which had previously served the region. The liquidation of EAA followed its accumulation of US$120 million of debt.[6] According to Andy Chande, the founding chairman of the board, Tanzania and Uganda did not receive a fair share of the former carrier's assets despite being equal partners.

The airline commenced operations with a Douglas DC-9-32 leased from Kenya Airways and purchased an additional two Boeing 737, financed by a U.S. bank.[7] It also leased aircraft from Air Madagascar. Four Fokker F27s and four DHC-6-300 Twin Otters were purchased in 1980. Because of less demand, two of the Fokker 27s were made obsolete in the year 1981. These aircraft returned to service in the year 1983, but were once again removed.[8]
