Tumeanza vizuri kudebate cost ya geothermal power halafu umeona ulikuwa wrong sasa umeanza kubadilisha gear angani na kuanza kuongea mambo ya cost of power in Kenya. Wewe amua kama tunaongea kuhusu cost of power in Kenya ama tunaongea specifically kuhusu cost of producing geothermal power. Usijichanganye hovyo hovyo.

learn a difference btn $20 per unit or per kWh n $20 Cent per unit or kWh first then njoo hapa tu-discuss kuhusu tofauti ya power generator na power distributor! Why Tanesco structure as sole generator and -distribtor will always be the cheapest modal of operation to final user in comparison of Kenya that has many players btn exploration, generation and distribution!

Sasa nataka ujuwe kwamba mimi huwa saa zingine naandika kwa kufupisha. Saa zingine nakosa kuandika cents kwa sababu najua wewe unaelewa haya mambo. Sasa sijui kwa nini umeanza matusi. Ni kawaida yangu kuandika $8 per kwh kwa sababu wewe sio mtoto mdogo eti lazima niandike $8 cents per kwh ndio uelewe.

Hata pia naweza kuandika 8 per kwh. Unastahili kujua kwamba ninamaanisha eight us cents per kilowatt-hour, sawa mzee?

HAHAHA hivi wewe hapo ulipo unaweza kubainisha iwapo stima unayotumia ni ya geothermal, thermal au hydro? GRID hu combine different sources of electricity. Unit production ya Solar haiwezi kuwa the same na ya Wind, Hydro au Thermal.

Ushawekewa unit cost ya geothermal right from the horses mouth (KENGEN) pamoja na IRENA kudhibitisha kuwa unit cost ya geo in Kenya ni $8cents lakini kwa ujinga wako na uzalendo uchwara hutaki kukubali, hadi unajichanganya. Unit cost ya pale nyumbani au hata viwandani haviwezi kuwa sawa na unit cost of production. Lazima distributer apate margins zake. LOL, IGNORANCE IS BLISS.

Shida yetu ni moja. Kuna maeneo ya Kenya ambayo geothermal kutoka Ol - Karia haijafika huko. Nyaya za umeme kutoka Ol-Karia hazijafika maeneo ya Kisumu, Busia, Kakamega. Haya maeneo bado yanategemea umeme kutoka hydro, thermal na pia umeme kutoka Uganda. Sasa hii thermal ndio inazalishwa na private investors na ndio bei ghali.

Serikali yetu inafanya juu chini kujenga nyaya za umeme kutoka Ol-Karia hadi hayo maeneo ya Kisumu ili angalau tuweze kufukuza hao private investors wanaozalisha umeme kwa kutumia diesel. Itachukua miaka kadhaa kabla umeme kutoka Ol-Karia kusambaa maeneo yote Kenya. Hawa private investors watabaki hapa Kenya hadi umeme nafuu wa geothermal ufike kila kona ya Kenya.

Kwanini wakati wanachimba hiyo Geothermal wakati huo huo hamkuwa mnajenga njia kuunganisha katika " National Grid? ", kumbukeni mnaanza kukatwa capacity charges kuanzia siku wameanza kuzalisha umeme.
