THE Trade Union Congress of Tanzania (TUCTA) has said that the government will pay the annual salary increment in the August salary.

TUCTA President Mr Tumaini Nyamhokya said that the increment was suppose to be paid in the July salary but it has not been so due to technical reasons.

The government reinstated the mandatory annual increment during this year’s May Day commemoration among other measures to boost workers’ morale.

“The public servants expected the pledge made by President Samia Suluhu Hassan to be effected in this month’s salary but it has not been so due to technical reasons … the government has promise to include the payment in the next month salary,” said Nyamhokya.

He said TUCTA through its Secretary General Juma Mkomi had discussion with the government through the Minister of State, President’s Office (Public Service Management and Good Governance), George Simbachawene who promised that the salary increment will be paid in the August salary.

Moreover, Mr Nyamhokya implored the government to implement the annual salary increment pledge to raise employees’ morale in working and serving the people.

Early in May this year, President Samia Suluhu Hassan reinstated the annual salary increment to public sector workers which was initially frozen.

Kama unaamini kuwa hiyo nyongeza ya mishahara itafanyika mwezi wa Nane, kwanini usipongeze kelele za CHADEMA kuwa zimesaidia hilo?
