Sometime we come across the painful reality like the devastating corona virus that we are facing now as a nation. I know that together if we join our efforts, we shall triumph at the end as a nation. However, as we start counting the cost and losses caused by this pandemic, we should also not forget the facts that for the first time since Multiparty system was introduced in Tanzania, we may not have general election in October, this year.
I would like our legal experts to start pondering the situation in which elections aren't held and tell us what the Constitution says. This is a very crucial question that shoukd be addressed soberly with highest level of decency and wisdom.
This is not about CCM, JPM or CDM. This is about critical analysis of the current threat that we face as a nation and what will be its outcomes. Even in Education, assuming that our children stay home for more than two or three months, it simply means that we shall have to reschedule form two and form four exams. Let us be a national of serious thinking beyond petty party politics.
Election is not a one day event, it's a process that requires preparations including registration, voters awareness, and political campaign for all candidates and political parties. So how shall we do all these things in the mid of a lockdown? #JustThinkingOutSideTheBox
